The Voided Loom

Story of Kelardasht's carpet by Sarah Moridpour

Kelardasht's carpet weaving, an art hundreds of years old, was a memento of migrating Kurds. What you will see, hear and experience in this documentary is a visual perspective of a two-year study of this region and its carpet weaving.

Dear Pooya, thanks for the great video

by Anahid Hojjati on

It is such a touching video and very informative. There are so many layers to this video, from listening to the "ghalibaaf woman" being thankful that she has this ghalibaafi which resulted in her not having to rely on anyone else and then the explanation that work goes on even in cold season. There were many other aspects to this video too. Above of all, it is great to see Hamvatanane aziz and zahmatkesh and the way they live their lives and what they are proud of. Recommended viewing for everyone. Thanks Pooya for sharing this video with us.

Good Work

Enjoyed the video, thank you very much for making it.  I wonder if the ladies in this video made the chador-shab they were wearing.  That is an art form in shomal.

That page is out of control. I like it a lot. The ones on Ayatollah Faackers passing away was very timely..

Thanks for asking Hooshang Jaan

Emam Naghi has taken a life of it's own.

I've seen some of the best Iranian humour ever produced on that page.

I've been busy but I'm still around.

Shame........

..........on those who brought the Great revolution and destruction upon our people and ran away after the mess they created. Especially, those who have the audacity to say that Iran today is even more democratic  than it was under the Shah despite the fact that they have not been back to Iran for the last thirty years.

Pooya aziz Thank you

This is a great film. I hope you have considered submitting it in the Sundance competition.

The narrative by the weavers, their love and passion for the job and the insight into an industry that is becoming extinct was very well communicated.
