Golshifteh, A lion heart woman
by Siavash300 on Thu Jan 26, 2012 08:08 PM PSTDear Shohreh,
Thanks for these informative interviews. I enjoyed both of these interviews, especially the 2nd part with General Aryanpoor. Something that caught my attention was General Aryanpoor's observation on the day of revolution. He said army basis were open to the public and army personels were inviting people to furnish themselves with weapons. Seems the whole process was pre-planed. Who was behind all those plans?
To me, Golshifteh naked photo shot is state of art. Most likely in the line of early work of Cezanne, and later on, work of Toulouse Lautrec. It consists with predominate culture of art in France.
Unlike what Dr. Mehdi claimed the shot didn't have any political message. It was not even designed to be against IRI. That was NOT the way the photoghrapher wanted to communicate with his viewers. I am sure if Pas mal (the photographer) hears about political interpretation of the vieweres, he will laugh laudly. The shot is only state of art and has been nominated to French oscar award.
At the same time the naked photo shot promotes women's liberation in Iran. It benefits Iranian women rahter than hurting them. It serves interest the of Iranian women. It serves the equality between men and women and social justice.
Before this photo shot, Golshifteh was just simple actress, but now she is well respected and has higher social status. She proved to be a daughter of our nation. Now, she is in the heart of million Iranians who wants to see freedom in Iran.
Our love and our pray to Golshifteh, a brave Iranian woman.
Sincerely,
Siavash
P.S
Here is my bog about her.

by Mash Ghasem on Thu Jan 26, 2012 04:43 PM PSTVanaki jaan, I listened to the whole thing, in two parts. and don't think I'm the only one either, Souri,...
The good Dr.'s take is very comprehensive since he incorporates into his analysis not only a historical, anthropological aspect of this affair, but he' also able to distinguish between the private and the public sphere, and he's also asked very good questions.
Did you listen to the whole thing? Which part really got your attention?

Dear Souri
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:36 PM PSTYou are most welcome my advise is free and about as valuable as its price :-) I also have stock market advise: sell high and buy low !!
Salmani , hate to break it to you like this but,
by Mash Ghasem on Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:01 PM PSTDayee Jaan, and Islamic democracy are both just myths. They never really exist.
What does exist in reality are phenomenons such as this most excellent interview. A rather comprehensive analysis by the good Dr., with thanks to Ms. Assemi for her program.
VPK,
by Souri on Thu Jan 26, 2012 11:56 AM PSTThanks for your advices. You might be right about my obsession, although I didn't talk about her, as much as other people did here. Still, you might have a point. Regardless, I was talking with Mr Mahdi, this time, not you :)

Thanks for paying attention to this important message.
Religion creates hypocrisy ( dualism- 2 ganegi)
by Siavash300 on Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:42 AM PSTit is not only Islam, Christianity, Judism makes people hypocrit as well.
Those who were critical of shah for being friend of western world, when revolution took place they all ran to western world. One of them was Abbas Milani. Typical hypocrit.
Haji chants "death to America" and has American passport in his pocket. Some people are critical of Capitalism, but they don't want to live even one day under socialism. Hypocrisy hurts our nation big time.

by amirkabear4u on Thu Jan 26, 2012 01:52 AM PSTPlease remember as an educated person one can not always blame own society for every shortcoming.
I did not watch to the end but in regard to honesty we must consider there are nearly 75 million people live in Iran therefore having diverse reactions to issues is normal.
Have a look at this article;
//www.guardian.co.uk/uk/shortcuts/2012/jan/25/how-honest-are-you
Our world has changed and this honesty in any form and shape has changed too.

Regarding values
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Wed Jan 25, 2012 06:20 PM PSTI have only listened to half of it. Very interesting about the repression of Iranian youth. He is definitely right about the reaction being mostly outside Iran. My opinion is we got a lot of big mouth hypocrites who sit on their high horses.
He is also right that many people advocate positions they do not practice. But we get it right here in America. For example most whites I know denounce racism. But they are very unhappy to see their kids go out with a black person.
Also right about the assumption of generalization. Putting meaning and turning her into the new representative of Iranian women. But what do you expect from people who are always talking about "Iranians are ...". Anyway very interesting,
Excellent analysis.....
by Souri on Wed Jan 25, 2012 06:43 PM PSTI have only listened to the 15 first minutes. What has been said in the first minutes, about our society, is very true. In fact, Mr Mahdi, didn't go deep enough to mention that this "do-ganegi" of our society, has started since the Arab's attack to the Iranians, some 1400 years ago.
I will listen to the rest of the video, later and maybe come back to adress my opinion.
