by vildemose on Fri Feb 24, 2012 09:28 AM PSTAccording to the United Nations, Iran is ranked the world’s 27th poorest nation with forty percent (40%) of the population living in poverty. UNICEF estimates over 1.5 million Iranian children live in orphanages. In actuality, this number is much higher, but due to lack of international presence in Iran we do not have a verifiable count.
