UK to expel all Iranian diplomats

In response to embassy attack

BBC: The UK is to expel all Iranian diplomats following the storming of its embassy in Tehran, Foreign Secretary William Hague has announced. He said he had ordered the immediate closure of the Iranian embassy in London. Tuesday's attack by hundreds of protesters followed Britain's decision to impose further sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme. The sanctions led to Iran's parliament reducing diplomatic ties with the UK. Mr Hague said he was demanding the immediate closure of the Iranian embassy in London, with all its staff to leave the UK within 48 hours >>>

Business

by Bahram G on

Some wonder why European countries even maintain diplomatic missions in Iran when they seem to disapprove of the IRI on many grounds. Answer in one word: business. They like buying oil at favorable prices and selling the mullahs the things they offer at higher prices. Business considerations often tramps just about any other concern.

I simply see what Iranians including myself has/had gone through.  Empowering IRI resulting in continuous Iranian harassment and prosecution is what only criminals wish for.  I am ashamed of present Iran.  On the other hand, I see conservative and liberal governmental approach in solving other countries problems (by the way, Iran is one of them).  As I said if you don’t benefit other counties, you will be destroyed.  I wish the beneficial fact could benefit people of both countries as well.  I disagree that present Iran deserves nuclear power.

iamfine you are answering your own challenge

by anglophile on

If you accept that the IRI is wrong all over (which is a very maloos way of putting it like saying "a pile of s**t is not so hygenic!!") then you can't expect the IRI to be treated rightly - justice is a two-way street. One can't help making an atom bomb and then expect to be treatd fairly or politely "warned."

The attack on the British

by vildemose on

The attack on the British compound suggests that the Iranian government fears economic isolation much more than diplomatic isolation.

People in Iran with relatives in UK will be very distressed.

to niacis: how can the west

by hamsade ghadimi on

to niacis: how can the west hold dialogue with iri when iri reacts to western actions by attacking their embassy?

with a bit of background: those who attacked the u.k. embassy were basijis and not "students." their actions were sanctioned by iri.  and the police who mercilessly beats down iri's opposition did nothing to prevent the escalation.

let me see you guys wag the dog: it's somehow the west's ineptitude that led to this. right?

Still stable.

by comments on

In this world a country maintains stability as long as the country satisfies more powerful countries in the world.  If IRI had been stable for so long, they have met all the dirty/clean requirements.

The opposition groups in London must get together and give these agents of the murderous regime the kind of send off they deserve. All those Mercs with diplomatic number plates must be confiscated and sold for the benefit of the soldiers maimed by the Islamic made roadside bombs.   The end of the Islamist criminals is neigh.

Recent explosion

by comments on

Does anyone know the reason behind embassy attack?  The attack was a clear invitation to a war.  Why English and Americans are targeted all the times?  These are not the countries to attack, if IRI conundrum is subjects of obscenity and repugnant, which endanger their Islamic standard of morality and decency.

Was the recent massive explosion in Iran relevant? It will take 1-2 days to destroy Iran, if Americans or English decide to go to a war with Iran.  In next few weeks we will see how hurtful (or ever) the attack has been to England.

Great Job and about time!!!!!!

by Anonymous Observer on

All nations should close their embassies in Iran in protest.  Obviously, these animals have no respect or regard for diplomatic missions.  They do not deserve to be dealt with as normal human beings.  They should be screamed at, told what to do and if don't do it, they should be punished. That's the only way to get through to the IR Neanderthals.

Norway closes its embassy

by vildemose on

Norway closes its embassy in Iran too. Why have an embassy in Iran? Nothing diplomatically ever means anything to these radical thugs. All western missions should move out, throw out all IRI “Diplomats” from their countries and shut off all activity and commerce. Make them dependent on the Russians and Chinese .
