Blinding man postponed

Punishment of Majid Movahedi stopped -- for now

Reuters: Iran has postponed blinding a convicted man in retribution for throwing acid in the face of a woman in 2004, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Saturday. A court sentenced Majid Mohavedi in 2008 to be blinded in both eyes for taking away the sight of Ameneh Bahrami by pouring acid in her face after she spurned his offers of marriage. "The punishment of Majid was scheduled to be carried out on Saturday at a hospital but it has been postponed," Fars quoted an unnamed official as saying, without giving details. Bahrami, whose hands, neck and face were also disfigured in the attack, said she did not want to take revenge, but wanted to "prevent it from happening to someone else..." >>>

Islam and its sickenning logic!

by Benyamin on

Ghesaas is the most stupid jutsice system anywhere.

Basically the reason two sides go before a judge is because someone impartial to make a decision about their case. if the judgement is left to one of the two that is no longer justice but legalize crime

In other words: In today`s Iran the society has gone mad and it has become too dark and it is all as a result of Islamic way of thinking and islamic way of life.

They are both victims of the Islamic regime and it is the IRI number one criminal that should be put on trial!

Was postponement of Islamic Sharia punishment this swift for Sakineh Ashtiani? If the culprit was a woman the sentence would be severe and carried out in a New York minute.

by Khebedin on

I am amazed. The Iranian justice system doesn't even respect their own verdict. What the world wants in this case is irrelevant, the court has made a decision and the Order is made. Why not respect and carry out the Order?. If they conside the law to be unfair, then they can change the law but only would aply to future cases not this case. This idiot needs to become an example to prevent any such case in future.

Stoning should be abolished! Acid blinding should never be carried out! Acid attack should be stopped!
