AFP: Iran's parliament on Sunday officially endorsed atomic chief Ali Akbar Salehi as the Islamic republic's foreign minister, who told lawmakers the nuclear issue was a key part of foreign policy. Salehi's candidacy was endorsed by 146 of the 241 lawmakers who voted in the conservative-dominated parliament on Sunday, state television reported on its website. "The nuclear issue is one of the important agendas of the foreign policy," Salehi said in his address to the parliament prior to the vote. He can be a good candidate
by iamfine on Sun Jan 30, 2011 07:04 PM PSTWith his educational background in the nuclear technology and the ability to speak several languages (Arabic and English), he can be of great asset to the country. We should note that was graduated from university of Beirut and PhD from MIT. Moreover, he was involved in numerous projects within the country and abroad.

He confused the hell out of me
by divaneh on Sun Jan 30, 2011 05:27 PM PSTI understood everyone before him but this Salehi talks like his speech was written by the speech writers of the Qajar era. Out of every 10 words, 9 of them were unnecessary. Poor foreign dignitaries.
