" amoojan" is right. Lorestan has many open minded people

by Anahid Hojjati on

I am with "amoojan" where he writes that Lorestan has open minded people. My parents are from Khorramabad and Broojerd. I used to travel yearly to Lorestan until I was about 13 and i spent much time in Broojerd. I used to watch movies of Al Pacino and Romina Power in Broojerd. Also in first Majless election in Iran, one candidate in Broojerd was a Fadaee Khalgh and he performed well in elections. Lors are not the most religious people in Iran. Yes, you have scenes like this but this does not tell the whole story.

Khorramabad I use to live there

by عموجان on

I had good memories from there, they are fine people, that was before EVIL took over the country. They use to be one of the open minded people in the country, I don't know now. I had my first Girl friend there ( Oh no I am going to hell now where Emama Zaman is )

AMIR1973

Let's not confuse Islam with Islamism

by AMIR1973 on

Islam has been the majority religion of Iranians for over a millenium (it likely took a few centuries after the Arab invasion of the 7th century AD to convert a majority of the population and a few more centuries to get a large majority). The Twelver Shia branch of Islam ("Esna Ashari") has been the majority religion of Iranians for a couple centuries (even though the Safavids started the process in the 16th century, it took a couple centuries to gain a majority). Islamism as a political ideology, and Khomeinism in particular, has been established for 3 decades. Let's not mix apples and oranges. We should not allow the IRI's propagandists to equate the IRI with Iran (as they try to do here) or Islamism with Islam, in my opinion.

Pens in the hands of who?

by Mola Nasredeen on

Fools Or wise men/women? That's the real question. There are millions upon millions of Iranians who believe and participate in Ashora activities every year and every where.

Dear dhhcfo

Couldn't be put better.

Should there be a war, this regime eagerly massacres Iranians in two fronts: War Zone and Opposition. This bunch has at least, a millennium experience in that. And us? Lambs - Fighting with our pens! "Priceless"

AMIR1973

Yes, go and tell them Mola joon

by AMIR1973 on

Tell them there are Iranians in Sheytan-e Bozorg living as a burden to American society but defending the IRI. Next, go tell your neighbors in America that you frequently spout nonsense for a regime that has killed Americans and Iranians. Have a nice weekend, buddy  .-)

they are not dancing with venomous snakes as some idiots in the Bible Belt do.   I suppose every society has its own [fill in the blank].

That is the "diversity of culture" based on the level of one’s intellectual acuity.
Cheers now to the sane.  :-)

Real Iran

by dhhcfo on

This is the real Iran; ignorance and religion fanaticism at its peak.  Who said we are going to get rid of mullah and islam pretty soon?  Damn Arabs and islam did a job on us that even centuries will not be able to wipe this shame clean.  Someone said the best; demonstrations and crying for democracy north of Shahreza Avenue is an exercise in futility.

Does anyone believe that a woman who is willing to sacrifice her son for imam hussein is craving for democracy!!  I don’t.
