In accordance with rational expressed repeatedly in IC, and for the sake of the world peace, I suggest Moosavi and Lady Gaga should unite.

Top 10 difference between Mousavi and Lady Ga Ga:

//www.juancole.com/2010/04/top-ten-differences-between-mir-hosain-mousavi-and-lady-gaga.html#comments

Time magazine’s publicists inform me that there is a duke-out going on between Lady Gaga fans and those of Iranian Green Movement leader Mir Hosain Mousavi. So, below, I offer the top ten differences between the two. First the announcement:

Mousavi vs Lady Ga Ga

by ghalam-doon on

Get ready to fight Lady Ga Ga's fans!

News item:

Lady Gaga fans are protesting the results of TIME.com’s TIME 100 online poll, where readers have been casting their votes for the person they think merits a spot on this year’s TIME 100 list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Gaga fans are accusing supporters of the winner, Iranian opposition leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi, of fraud by stuffing the online ballot box.  Gaga was leading the poll and was then toppled by Mousavi.

The Green Movement is derailed and turned in to "bache-baazi." We're at the point where our opponents are Lady Ga Ga's fans!

That's what happens when a movement does not have a charismtaic and stong leadership and a clear strategy.

Darius Kadivar

voted for Mir Hossein Moussavi In SOLIDARITY NOT In ALLEGIANCE

by Darius Kadivar on

Remember it Say's Most Influential and NOT Man of the Year Vote

My Comment for TIME:

As an Iranian expat living in France I vote for Mir Hossein Moussavi In SOLIDARITY With the Iranian Green Movement but NOT In ALLEGIANCE to The SELECTED Leaders of this Movement. For this gentleman's past is far from innocent in the misery that the Iranian nation has been going though for the past 30 years of this Truly UN IRANIAN regime that has stepped on everything our country has represented in 25 centuries of Human history. Mr. Moussavi is Accountable if Not Guilty to say the least for crimes commited by the Islamic republic particularly during his term as Prime Minister during which many Political prisoners were executed and given that he was and is still part of the system and regime of which he hails it's founder the late ayatollah Khomeiny.

I am also surprised by the abscence in this list of another unhappy candidate in the last elections and that is Mehdi Karroubi who has proved to be much more bold and critical of the regime both in action and speaches/interviews than our Amir  Kabir Wannabe ...

SATIRE: I voted ;0)

Lastly just a reminder to fellow compatriots that this  is a Poll on the most Influential political personality Which has made Time Coverage in the past for such people as :

Reza Shah ( The Great)

And his Son:

Struggle for stability: Time

and NOT Man of the Year ( Which is Not always flattering : see Hitler in 1938 or Stalin both in 1939 and 1942 ) like Dr. Mossadegh who is to my knowledge the Only Iranian to have had that honor to date:

TIME: Mossadegh 1951

My Humble Opinion,

DK

More Americans voted for

by Sargord Pirouz on

More Americans voted for Mousavi than Lady GaGa? Like your average American even knows he is.

Highly spurious poll. (You know these things can easily be manipulated by means of automated vote generation-right?)

I already voted for him last June. I'm not voting for him again.

Psychological victory for the Green Movement, all of us!

Thanks to all of you who participated in this voting and showed the world that we have not forgotten and we use all available means to echo the voices of Iranian people. Btw, I had many emails from family and friends in Iran which indicates people inside Iran were following and very much interested in this TIME voting.

Mr. David ET, you are very correct!

Q...!

by David ET on

Your exclusionist self-serving attitude continues to cause divison instead of harmony.

Many like myself vote for Mousavi in Time or wherever , not because we like Mousavi but we are against IR and/or want to attract world's attention but you continue to take credit for your self-serving reasons at our expense which with such attitude in fact you don't even help your Mousavi but discourage those who are more neutral to vote for him because they see that you and some others try to take advantage of their vote for own agendas.

You don't help Mousavi, you dont help unity , therefore may be you should just zpt then! for best help!!

I'm not a Moussavi lover

but I voted for him as I also asked as many people as I could to do so. It's important for Iranians to show unity behind those  who can carry their voice of opposition against this regime (except of MKO) and to show the world that the opposition against Mullahs is alive.

If Moussavi is displayed on Time's cover he'll make History as Mossadegh did in 1950 before him.

Enough in dreaming in the wet lands. Time is up to be united.

Not quite sure any of these folks are that influential

by reader1 on

Passerby

Not quite sure any of these folks are that influential. Objectively, within the context of iranian and world politics, Khamanaie is probably the most influential creature on earth. As an absolute leader,  ruler and dictator, he could change the course of history by a single Friday sermon and get away with it clean. Let’s  not forget that to many he is the god’s representative on earth.

Though the TIME voting sample is undoubtedly skewed toward people living in the West, it is still a valuable barometer of what people think.

Reading blog posts or angry comments on websites which tend to self-select for the loudest and extremist voices, one can easily get a misleading picture. It's always good to get a doze of reality, in terms of what Iranians really want and who they support, once in a while.
