My tone is neither pessemistic nor optomistic. It is just an observation.
The rest of your writing is just a "what-if" scenario.
I don't give "what-if" scenarios without the use of Iranian history, culture, and religion.
Mir Hussein Mousavi, Mehdi Karoubi and Ali Akbar Rafsanjani have too much invested in the theocracy. They would prevent the fall of the theocracy.
Qods day came and went. Now, Iran is back to business as usual. In 4 years someone will run for Iranian President. Maybe, Karoubi or Mousavi will win. Maybe, Rafsanjani will win. Will anything change? I highly doubt it.
What happened to one Iranian Protester?

By the way, the protester in the article is from a religious family.
What is the situation with the Iranian revolutionary Guards?
//dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09/28/revol...
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are stronger than ever.
Some estimates say the real owners of the economy in Dubai are the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
I don't know where you are getting your news from but, it just doesn't do justice to reality.
THE END...

by Paykar on Mon Sep 28, 2009 09:15 PM PDTI don't share your simple logic and overtly pessemistic tone. Iran is indeed has entered into a revolutionary situation-neither can the regime continue business as usual, nor the people accept the situation as it is.
Will the movement succeed? I, along with millions of other Hamvatans sure hope so. We hope an organic leadership will emerge and different segments and classes unite under one demand, namely, no more Velayate Faghih; and if we are lucky, An Iranian Republic would become a broadly accepted slogan for the next phase...

A regular day at Tehran University
by American Dream on Mon Sep 28, 2009 01:15 PM PDTThis is just a regular day at tehran University. Nothing is going on. If the students get out of hand then they get kicked out of school. If they get kicked out of school they can become a taxi driver. If they are men then they must complete their 2 year mandatory military service. After those 2 years that student protester is completely brain washed and has a foot long beard.
When will the masses wake up? All these clips are just a big smoke screen.
All these clips give the Iranian theocracy one more life line.
Only people with Ahmadinjead's sense of reasoning would believe something is going on.
