Les Ballets Persans: Turquoise Land, Dream of Peace

Dancing to music composed by the late master Parviz Meshkatian

Dedicated to world peace Turquoise Land is a colorful mixture of Western classical ballet technique and the graceful expressive charm of Persian traditional rhythms. Turquoise Land was choreographed by Nima Kiann on the occasion of the celebration of his works and artistic achievements in London on March 9, 2008. For the first time, classical ballet is choreographed on traditional Persian music composed by Master Parviz Meshkatian. In this ballet creation woman is the messenger of peace. The most important art form to focus on

by Abarmard on

Since dance is forbidden in the Islamic Republic, it is extremely important to keep this form of art alive. I however would argue that we need to try to modernize our art and in this case dance from our own base rather than Ballet.

There are plenty of works in the West and worldwide available in this form, Iranian artists and dancers, should focus more on growing our traditional dance to a more acceptable art, and hopefully grow it to satisfy the needs our time.

It worries me to realize that our dance might get lost by the passage of time.
