by Anonymous8 (not verified) on

do you really think we need a British yes-man?
under Reza Pahlavi the country was occupied and resources stolen. and even this favorite leader of yours was kicked out by a foreign power.

why don't you just bring back the ghajaris?

Where is the next Reza Shah the great?

by Arash Kamangir (not verified) on

I looked at the video and I hated every second of it. Have we realy deserved these bearded bastards to rule over us? Where is the next Reza Shah the great to kick the mullahs ass and their bearded followers, to cleanse that land from a plague called Islam and bring light and life into Iran and Iranians.

It seems that you are out of touch with Iran's reality as well:

1- This is not the first time that this is happening. Whenever the government is cornered politically they put on these kind of shows. They allow some people with differing opinions to talk a little bit so that everybody thinks that there opposing ideas are tolerated (which is not).
2- If you prefer to call these people analysts that's fine. The problem is not how they analyze. The problem is each of these "analysts" have a dark past and present. The reason that some of them are "likable" now is that they don't have the power. Once they have power then you'll see that their cute-and-logical attitude will change. For those with difficulty remembering history, just compare what Mullahs were saying before revolution and compare it to what they actually did after revolution.

3- I don't think what Ahmadinejad has done in his 4 years is even remotely as damaging as what Mr. Abdi and his accomplices did when they took American citizens as hostages.

4- They just say what uneducated people want to hear. Again Mr. Abdi says "making A-bomb is our right and nobody else's business". No, it's not. Iran has signed and still is a member of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. So we cannot make A-bombs. It seems that your favorite analyst is no better than Ahmadinejad in respecting the international law. Oh wait, I forgot that he has a hostage taking of diplomats in his resume so he has broken the international law already.

Ali Lakani

For all it's worth

by Ali Lakani on

You can mock and make fun of the people in this debate all you want.  The fact remains that what they have to say is so very different from what has been fed to Iranian people by the state run TV, IRIB, for four years.  For the first time during these elections, Iranian people have had a chance to hear opposing and differing points of view from the official positions on the national TV.  Ordinary Iranians in Iran find this a welcome opportunity to learn.  Reaction to these debates, therefore, has been extremely positive and Iranians inside Iran appreciate the dialogue.

When are Iranians outside Iran going to learn that Iranians inside Iran are not the gullible idiots you think them to be?  Yes, the "analysts" you see on the screen may not be equivalents of what western analysts might talk and look like, but they are knowledgeable about Iranian politics and they are voicing the thoughts and ideas of quite a number of Iranians inside Iran.

These debates are said to be some of the most viewed programs on IRIB in recent years.

"They were coming to out guts." You can do better than that. How about "We gave an inch, they [the Americans] took a yard."

Q

Joe from Orlando, I will take a shot at translating it

I think this is fascinating and should be more accessible to the American audience.

I'll do my best at this, but others, please help out if you can. Thanks.

-----------------------
[0:00 Abbas Abdy representing Mehdi Karroubi]
The issue we have about nuclear politics that is severely under question is this:

No one believes that nuclear energy is not our right. I had an interview recently with an American newspaper. I said not only nuclear energy but nuclear bomb is also our right. It's no one else's business.

[0:18]But we have to see if this is to our benefit or not. This is the debate. Yes, maybe the West would even say: "yes, it's your right, go on and live with nuclear energy" and "I will embargo you, etc.". It's not a problem. We can resist. But, we have no plans for such a work. It has to be thoughtful. We have to decide this for ourselves first.

[0:40]I don't want to say that under Western pressure we will say "let's accept this" and "let's accept that." Look, just set aside the West for now. Put a line around Iran. Then sit down and let's have an internal discussion. Does this work that we are proposing to our benefit?

[0:54]This is severely bad for us that a resolution with 15 yea votes would be issued against Iran several times. It's not like we can say it's only 15 countries. From the perspective of population, or so-to-say economy, or whatever else you want to count, it is 70-80% of the world.

[1:12 Reza Talaee-nik for Rezai]We are in cicumstances that from an era of confrontations with America, we are entering an era of balanced rivalry. Here the role of foreign policy, the role of diplomacy in the 10th government is a very consequential role.

[1:34]And whoever wins the election -- more ably than the 9th government -- must be able use the able machinery of diplomacy, and take into account all national and regional capabilities, and utilize emerging opportunities.

[1:53]We did not get any results from the prevailing passivity in the reformist government. We did not get any results from the superficial condoct of the 9th government. Now, we need to move into a direction of innovative action.

[2:02 Hamid Jalalipur for Mousavi]It was said the foreign policy of the Khatami era was passive. Holy Cow! (idiom). What does this mean? Look, observe how the trust-building policies of the Khatami era lead to positive outcomes.

[2:17]It was during Mr. Khatami's era that September 11 happened. Americans gave up 3000 dead. That Mr. Bush in America acted like a drunkard and frankly declared war on the whole world. In that time, Mr. Khatami saved this nation. Else America, instead of going to Iraq or Afghanistan would have first come to Iran.

[2:37]Therefore Khatami's politics of trust-building was very instrumental. It was very influential. As a matter of fact Khatami's foreign policy was very appropriate. And for this reason, that same team, that same force and the same experiences -- if you pay attention -- are behind Mr. Mousavi. Therefore these policies will continue.

[2:57]One of the proud accomplishments of the Rafsanjani government was to make relations with Saudi Arabia amicable. And of the proud accomplishments of Mr. Khatami regime, one was that Iran became so imporatant that he was forced to often travel abroad. It was for this reason that they replaced the Airplane. Because the former Airplane was so old, they would not allow it in Europe.

[3:15 Alireza Zaker Esfahani for Ahmadinejad]The 9th government was formed at a time when the international order was a special one with the rule of the American Neoconservatives. America was drunk with power and weaker countries were constantly subject to threats and worry. Specifically with regard to our country, the attitude of our own leaders and the fearfulness from America, created the grounds whereby we signed a contract right here in Tehran with the Americans, with our own hands.

[3:56]The Americans came [gets interrupted by inaudible] -- Yes, it was the treaty of Saadabad -- and there we became ready to accept what they proclaimed and imposed on us from above, very simple.

[4:11]We were happy that we were talking about Dialogue of civilizations. And this was received very well. They clapped for us, and whistled for us. And there was a year, called the year of dialogue of civilization. But simultaniously at the same time-frame there was talk of "axis of evil". Iran was designated a part of the axis by Americans. It was designated as a terrorist nation.

[4:37]And as it was stated, there was talk of trust-building. Constantly, they were belligerant toward us. They were coming in our guts. One meter inside they would come, and we were jumping 10 meters back. "5+1" ? We were supposed to answer with more trust building. "Sure we will valuntarily do whatever you say." That was the situation.

What a wonderful show this is!

by eroonman on

Iranian Idol (worshipping):

I wonder who will win this season? You might think it should be Adam, but it's going to be Chris. Because Chris' uncle is Khamenei.

It almost looks like a real debate! Too bad it isn't.

This is show put on to preoccupy the Iranian people into thinking it's dramatic. A real drama that captivates their attentions. Forget the real issues of living under religious-based oppression.

Meanwhile the Guardian Council and Supreme Leader are watching this, laughing. Because to them, this is a comedy. Whose storyline they have already written, whose outcome they already know.

Dear God, what a joke you are.

The Truth Is Coming Out
Reagan on the late Shahanshah of Iran

"What we did to the Shah of Iran is a black page in the history of America "
&nbs p; Governor Ronald Reagan, Sacramento , Ca. July 27th, 1980
Bit by bit history is re-written and the truth about what Jimmy
Carter & the evil Brits did to the pro-western modernizer Shah
of Iran in 1979 is emerging. In the past 30 years the filthy greedy
Brits & their slaved Mullahs spent millions on misinformation &
fabrication about the part they all have played in bringing about
the overthrow of the progressive Shah & his government.
The Shah himself described whole scenario as
" AVERY WELL ORCHESTRAITED COSPIRACY
FROM THE OUTSIDE.."
Many shameless writers & journalist like Fred Halliday, Barbara slavin,
Steve Kinser Dilip Hiro, Christian Amanpour & Trita Parsi, Ali Ansari in
line with the Mullahs desire to trash the late Shah's image & achievements
as20well as humanise & legitimise the merciless Mullah's regime, tried to
re-write the history of modern Iran by portraying the Shah as a tyrant, despot
& a puppet of America . With no shame or remorse, these writers & journalists
made millions out of Iranians misery & for the past 30 years they seemed to
be succeeding in convincing the world with their blatant lies. One wonders if
these self-righteous villains would ever write a line or two about the tragedy
that has plagued the Iranian nation for the past 3 decade, let alone taking
r esponsibility for the 30 years of death, destruction and pain & suffering
they have inflicted on Iranians.
Below is a short clip of the late President Ronald Reagan's
re-election debate in November of 1984. This is no longer
a claim of conspiracy theory by some Iranians. In it he
directly blamed Jimmy Carter for what has happened in Iran .

Brotherhood of Egypt ). How they also=2 0created the carbon copy of the same in Iran in 1944
calling it "EDAYIAN-e ESLAAM" (the Devotees of Islam). By reading this book you will see
how Bits engineered the Islamic revolution in Iran . How the mad Mullahs & their insane leader
Khomeini were used by the Brits to overthrow & destroy the Shah and his nation in 1979.
This book was published in America in 1982 & is banned in UK ever since..

Commissioned by the Bilderberg Committee in 1977 to recommend
ways to stop Iran 's fast race for economical prosperity & independence.
His solution: The Islamic Revolution & the destruction of the Iranian nation.
In his recommendation to the Bilderberg Committee
Bernard Lewis actually used these words:
"The destruction of the Iranian nation".
Bernard Lewis is also the same Iran-hater swine that has recently recommended the
new map for Iran . The divided Iran is to have five new smaller independent states.

George Wildman Ball
He was the under secretary of State in J F Kennedy administration and one of
the well known anti-Shah elements advocating regime change in Iran since the
early 60's. Because of his animosities towards the late Shah of Iran , Jimmy

Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski

Iran & engagement with the terrorist regime of their beloved Ayatollahs.

General Robert E. Huyser
June 14th 1924 & nbsp; September 22nd 1997
General Huyser was NATO's deputy commander in chief (the U.S. & European
Command).. He was secretly sent by Jimmy Carter to Iran to destabilize the Shah's
government and pave the way for Khomeini's safe return. His prime objective was to
prevent any anti-Khomeini coup by the loyal Imperial Army officers. In his many
meetings with Shah's army officials, Huyser made it clear that any attempt by the
Imperial Iranian Armed Forces to rescue the Shah's regime will not be tolerated by
the US administration. He later briefly met the Shah and bluntly told him that the US
administration is interested to know about the date and the hour of His Majesty's
departure from Iran . General Alexander Haig who was the Commander of NATO at that
time resigned in protest to Huyser's mission to Iran . Huyser stayed in Iran for some
time to over see the safe transition after Khomeini was imposed in 1979.

Please listen to the ABC report of January 9th 1979, openly disclosing
the report that the US administration has laid it's intention that the basic
= policy of the United State was NOT the continuation of the Shah's reign.
At the beginning of the tape, is a short clip showing the Shah of Iran speaking
in 1973, saying because the western oil consortiums did not keep their promise
for respecting Iran 's interest, than the Imperial Iranian government from 1979
under no condition will renew any contract with them. And we all know about 1979.
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7Z-ORkIjpA
Finally please listen to the centre of storm, the Shah of Iran.
In it the late Shah talks about the famous BBC & the outsiders
who staged the so-called Khomeini revolution.
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgy0wmu6NKw

Look at the result of20the
Carter & the British revolution in Iran

30 years of torture, imprisonment, execution on cranes,
= amputation of body parts, stoning to death, assassination
of exiles, prostitution, drug addiction, poverty. Creating, funding
& supporting the Islamic terror networks & looting Iran 's wealth.
Yet Jimmy Carter's Human rights & democracy centre
as well as the EU and Britain see no evil & hear no evil.

The overthrow of the late Shah of Iran in 1979 by Jimmy Carter & Britain was
the great mistake of the 20th century. Iranians will not forget nor forgive.

Just a quick reminder for the viewers of this video: Mr. Abdi is the same person who was a participant in the so called "hostage taking" back in early days of revolution. Some say that the cost and damage of that stupid action for Iran has been unimaginable. For example most probably Iraq would have not invaded Iran. Also the suffering of all Iranian living outside of Iran and still being hurt by that stupid act.
Now Mr. Abdi talks about "we should see what is good for us and what is not before doing it.", yeah right. He is just full of it.
For those that may say "Oh, when he did that he was so young and he didn't know better": 1- A lot of people do things when they're young that keeps them in prison forever. 2- A few years ago in an interview he still defended his and his accomplices.
