I am truly sad to see that

by Sad Iranian (not verified) on

I am truly sad to see that still people like Ebi, Googoosh, Mulla, etc. have to tell us what to do. Vote! Don't vote! Dance! Don't Dance! etc.

What about self assurance?

You have a clip for every occasion, don't you?? No need to say that de Funes was a favorite of the Shah's... ;-)

Isn't it more like you are supporting the regime??

Look, nobody thinks the regime is going to fall if we don't vote (in fact, how stupid!), we (or rather I, as I don't want to speak for non-voters) just say this is wrong. If you're put in front of an impasse, the proper thing is to reject it, not to bow to one side.

Yes she did support voting and disappointed many of her fans, but Ebi this time made us proud by discouraging people from voting.

The Iranian political landscape is evolving and maturing before our very eyes.  Vote and play your part in this change.  Don't vote and remain irrelevant!

NOT VOTING = DENIAL OF HOLOCAUST

by verytass on

Ahmadinejad or "President of Iran" has done nothing but bring shame to Iranian, and our cosmopolitan and rich culture.
His tirades are seen as those of ours. Most people see him as an extension of Iranian and his reelection would future confirm that. His loss will show the world what we stand for, and as a country and people we are neither racist or deny the existence of Holocaust.
Unfortunately, this site is filled either with Ahmadinejad apologist or naive souls who for past 30 plus years are thinking the regime is about to topple. As some point we have to grow up and face the reality head on -- the stinking mullahs are going no where! And the only path is a gradual internal change.
It begins with voting this idiot out office. Those are urging no vote are direct (and indirect) supporters of Ahmadinejad and his embarrassing and shameful remarks!

NOT VOTING = DENIAL OF HOLOCAUST

by verytass on

We need to vote out Ahmadinejad to tell the world we are not supporting Holocaust deniers and Iranians are NOT Holocaust deniers.
It's a message to the world for the values we are standing for. That is, change from Ahmadeinejad and his values!
Those who are trying to discourage voting are either directly or naively supporting Ahmadinejad and his values.

We all know that there is no free election in Iran and as we all know Iranians do not want to have an Islamic republic in Iran. There is a shame in voting for those who are ruining our land, culture and existence. Fooling ourselves or trying to fool our people is very bad and it will take us and our country to Turkestan!
"We have to start to evolve and learn to accept that people have different opinions and some will be the exact opposite of ours", IRI and their supporters are not Iranians, the only thing that they have is iranian names and ID. Do the IRI accept that people have different opinions and some will be the exact opposit of them? If yes, then why 1000s of Iranians are behind the bars or like you and me out of Iran?

Not when...

... those you vote for represent a bunch of thiefs and murderers.

And we're not talking about a democratic country here.

There is no shame in voting, not voting, or even supporting either side. We have to start to evolve and learn to accept that people have different opinions and some will be the exact opposite of ours.

If you're lucky, voting is your right. You can either exercise it or you can choose to not vote. It's still not illegal to not vote (in some countries it is).

In Iran, it's a person's decision and it may not be what we want. People should be allowed to support whichever decision they make without having to fear a chomagh over their head. Yes! even googoosh!

Shame on non-iranian musicians like Googoosh(Hajeeh Fayezeh Khanoom) who support voting in Iran's elections.
