Makhmalbaf: Do not recognize Ahmadinejad

Film director addresses European Parliament

AP: A spokesman for Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi has called on the European Parliament to pressure EU nations not to recognize the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf says Ahmadinejad's government and clerical hard-liners in Tehran are "endangering the peace" in the Middle East. He has told EU assembly lawmakers on Wednesday (July 8) to push EU governments to increase sanctions on Iran to protest the post-election crackdown against protesters >>>

We cannot deny that

by Niloufar Parsi on

iran's political process has been taken hostage by a militaristic faction

hundreds of iranian political demonstrators have been murdered or injured

thousands of iranians have been incarcerated without any cause

hundreds have been tortured

Nedas have been silenced

those who want to blame the 'foreigners' for these atrocities are free to do so, but they are free to do so in places where such views are actually allowed to be held. in places ruled by those same foreigners. the blatant double-speak and hypocrisy of such people reminds one of AIPAC. It appears we have our own neocons to deal with.

Million or so Iraqis and Afghans were slaughtered in the name of some cause or another by the neocons and the taleban. Now we have to listen to the reasons why it is OK for Iranians too to be denied their vote and their basic human rights because of some 'foreign threat' and in the name of some long-betrayed revolution against imperialism. that this regime has become every bit as revolting and inhuman as the next seems not to matter to our pro-ahmadinejad friends. what matters to them is an obsession with the agenda and transgressions of 'foreigners'.

it is only blind, thuggish nationalism that can get away with such murder and hypocrisy.

Peace

just one small point and one large one:

small: what are POLO pots?

and large: DID SHIRIN EBADI EVER SPEAK UP THAT AN ELECTION WAS FRAUDULENT?

______________

No I don't read Persian-I'm a bit of a linguist so I learned it quite quickly a few years ago and got up to about low intermediate level in a few months but then I let it go. And now I barely read or speak it at all. Unfortunatel. I may go back to it.

However I get more than you might think of my taste of Iranian journalism because so many Iranian sources are linked to the ones I read in English and they are described.

Yes, you have a very unusual country.

Well, anyway, answer me those two points above, please, and then we'll go back to the larger task at hand.

Mr. Makhmalbaaf in his first statement as representative of Moosavee's camp claimed that someone from ministry of interior had called Musavee's headquarters and has told them that Moosavee has won the elections and be prepared for celebration.  This was posted on this Iranian.com and even on CNN and even Abbas Milani refered to him as well-known film-maker.

I read on many opposition sites including PeykIran that the person who had leaked the information from ministry of interior was killed in a faked car accident.  Even I read that tanks have just moved to the Freedom Square in Tehran.  Later on, (perhaps sometime last week. I am sorry I could not find the news there any more as I do not know much how to search sites) I read ``reappearance of the Martyred`` and the person was indetified as a man in connection with sports that a few times in the past few years had gone to ministry of interior due to some professional business and he has never been an employee at the ministry of interior.  He did not have an accident.

Third point is that the people whom I mentioned were somehow in positions of authority during undeniable suppressions that have taken place in the eighties.  They had roles in the continuation of Iran-Iraq war that consumed at least half million of Iranians only.  Since when they have become freedom-lovers and care about human-rights.  Mr. Makhmalbaaf was working in his film projects until a few years ago when freedom was denied to others.  Even a movie was made about his true face called Makhmalbaaf bee neghaab.

Story of British support for the Iranian Constitutional Revolution is long and well-known to Iranians.  As long as it was to their benefit to chase the Russians and the monarchy they backed out of Iran, the Brits supported the revolution.  Once the Russians were gone, they imposed a dictatorial system like that of Reza Khan``s.  In brief, they cannot be trusted at all.

Simply because someone has been awarded a prize of any nature does not immunize her or him from being wrong.  The nude truth has to come out as soon as possible.  Those who want to make agitation need guns, not honest people who want to know the truth.

Ms. Ebadi has crticized the Islamic Republic on many occasions on human rights issues.  Unless, she wants to add more fuel to the fued, why she doesn`t want to make things clear now.

No offense, I believe you do not much read Persian sites in Farsi.  I wish you did.  So much double reporting and baseless claims goes on that sometimes I feel just shut the door on myself.  Now, that you see I still take a glance is because I have gone through all of these types of approaches in my life.  I brought you a few examples.  People know that I am not the person to ever defend Pahlavis, but during the 1979 I have seen how much false things were blamed on the Shah.  Then, the war came and false rumors again, and go on.

Thanks for your patience

We are the silent majority and we CONTROL the furture of Iran not the losers, stranded monarchists and the Western stooges who have flooded this site maiking it appear they are the voice of the majority. They are NOT. Demonstration democracy was tried out in Lebanon a few years ago to make it appear that Lebanon was pro-west. Then when that did not work, the Zionist poodles attacked Lebanon which blew up in their faces. It is clear that George Soros, the billionaire Jew from Hungary now has funnelled enormous money into this bogus so-called green revolution. CNN's Ted Turner, who owns more land than anybody in the US, like a feudal lord, is behind the scene pushing his corporate meida turned FOX surrogate,- I need not talk about Rupert Murdoch who is an avowed right-winger fascist. Here is the scope:

1-The Revolutionary Guards are dedicated and are on the sideline right now but ready to move in:

2-Military hardware is made ready to declare martial law & curfew;

3-America's new push into Afghanistan must be defeated, the US is in no position to open a fourth front (after Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan). The Moslem world is so inflamed that this time the crusaders will face a united front spanning the entire Indian subcontinent to Sudan & North Africa. Some 1.4 billion Moslems will join in.

4- Iran is poised to make its nuclear warheads. But we should do what the North Korean have done north of the DMZ to the immediate North of Seol, namely thousands & thousands of artillery and missile batteries lining up along the PERSIAN GULF, to make a statment to the West that the days of gunboat diplomacy is over. We Iraninas are ready to sacrifice our lives for our Meehan, & punish the traitors who are now the Trojan Horse of the West.

Makcmalbaf & his ilk is a traitor and Western stooge. His sense of self-importance will evaporate as soon as reality sinks in.

Oh, most important point to the ANON fish about J.

by rosie is roxy is roshan on

The MAJOR reason I make sport of Jaleho and also have just devoted so much time to defending my right to is because Jaleho's dangerous.

She espouses a very dangerous kind of propaganda. That is to say she is THE mouthpiece for a thoroughly detestable regime. I believe dangerous people must be discredited at any cost. Initially I attempted to accomplish this by parroting over and over the same challenge every time I encoungered her on a thread: Defend your statement that IRI is a democracy or you are completely discredited.

Here and there, it has caught on. I have seen people mention in passing that a person who would make such a claim is in fact idiscreditable. This I find to be quite salubrious.

As you can see just by glancing down to my last post, I have NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER with people who support and/or defend or voted for Ahmadinejad OR people who detest and attempt to discredit and did not vote for Moussavi.

In fact, I'll debate Avaznia til the cows come home if he wants to.

But not Jaleho.

Okay Manouchehr, I need clarification on a few points before we get to the heart of the matter and the big picture. So could you please answer my questions as succinctly and clearly as possible and we’ll move on from there.

_______________________________________

Your so-called movement that doesn't even clarify who the person in the interior ministery has been to report that Moossavee had won the election with 19 million votes,

Sorry, don’t know who you’re referring to here.

Do you ever follow the news that the person that was propagated has leaked those information has been an employee of the ministery of interior and has been killed in a staged car accident scenario; and eventually it turns out that the person was not such an employee and he did not have an accident and he was not killed either?

Sorry, confused/ Please clarify,

I believe in the last analesys those who lost their live in prisons and at war were to be blamed and not spiritually purified persons that happens you like.

Sorry, confused, please clarify first part.

The Constitutional Revolution that came out of the POLO pots at the British embassy in Tehran went into Reza Khan's bank accounts through 1299 Coup.

Don’t understand at all. Please explain. From Ebaadee to Ganjee to ...

Why on the earth Ebadee who according to you is an untouchable person

Point of clarification from me: No I said not YET. I believe she could always be used as the trump card, the big gun you have to keep in reserve.til absolutely necessary.

would shy to clearly state that it was an illegal election?  She has done in the past.

When has Ebadi done so in the past?

It appears to me that since about six or seven years ago many many Iranians have showed extraordinary talents that they receive plenty of prizes and rewards in the West.  From Ebaadee to Ganjee to ...  The sources of talent were dried all across Iran since the Crusades until past several years that all of a suddent the West awakened to this marvel.

Also, it appears that you admit that Mr. Moosavee and Mr. Makhmalbaaf speak based upon no valid case.  Why on the earth Ebadee who according to you is an untouchable person would shy to clearly state that it was an illegal election?  She has done in the past.  She is a multi-millionar already thanks to Noble Prize and book sales. She is welcomed to stay anywhere she wants.

Rather, this gang is trying to make a case for themselves.  The first news in less than few hours after the declaration of Ahmadee Nezhaad's win (as I wrote to some one right on this site) came out of BBC World Service in few short sentences.  Right after that the whole story was diverted to the vote rigging and lengthy interviews with those so-called Iran experts to talk about it plus graphic details of violence in Iran.  For over a week both BBC and CNN plus many sites were totally devoted to injecting the matter of fraud in minds without any proof.

My friend, all these sudden openness is only to give the West more room for haggling with the present government over what they believe to be their sphere of influence and nothing else.  More people are being killed in Iraq every day thanks to American presence the the news of which is not even mentioned in a tiny site or newspaper leave alone major TV channels.  Did you see the miracle of Saberee's release today.  Five Iranian diplomats were released today in Iraq.

The West is wrong again.  Iranians will not budge to centuries long colonialistic-imperialistic demands.

rosie is roxy is roshan

Dear Green,

by rosie is roxy is roshan on

Surely you don't think Mohsen did it all on his own. It would've been Mousavi and his triumvirate who made that decision for Makhmalbaf to speak at the EU. Btw, it's not the first time he's done it either (see my link in post below).

_____________________

And speaking of Shirin Ebadi, that isn't possible, for a number of reasons. She can't declare fraud when it hasn't been LEGALLY proven (whatever 'legal' means in IRI), first off, as a lawyer, and second of all, because if she did so, she would probably find it very difficult to practice in IR for as long as Khameini is in power. And that's why she did just come out with a VERY strong statement of condemnation of IR,

but only regarding the persecution of her and her colleagues and the closing of her office.

Which appears to have led, by the way, to the incarceration of one of the most prominent human rights lawyers in Iran. After all, they CAN't arrest a Nobel Laureate, even they can't do that. Yet.

Arrest of founding member of Ebadi's group:

Can you please ask Mr. Makhmalbaaf to first respond to the question that who made  those movies about the political prisoners in 1960's.  You may refer to the prison memoirs of Iraj Mesdaaghee about his position in propaganda machine in the Islamic republic.  Your so-called movement that doesn't even clarify who the person in the interior ministery has been to report that Moossavee had won the election with 19 million votes, has already been hijacked My Friend.  Do you ever follow the news that the person that was propagated has leaked those information has been an employee of the ministery of interior and has been killed in a staged car accident scenario; and eventually it turns out that the person was not such an employee and he did not have an accident and he was not killed either?  Mr. Makhamalbaaf as well as Moosavee even do not release the names of those people.  They lack logical thinking.  Look at Moossavee's talking.  I have listened to this person since 1360.  How desprate are we?  Do you recall the story of Cinema Rex in Abadan?  For the goodies of the day everyone said the Shah had done it.  Soon it became clear that was not the case.  Do you remember when it was said anything was better than the Shah's government?  Surely not.

18th of Teer was committed at the time of Khaatamee, Mosavee was the primeminester of the time of political massacres and continuation of disasterous war with Iraq.  Rafsanjaanee was the one who was boasting about the war and political prisoners in Friday cermons.  Now, all of them have gone through spiritual purification only to serve the purpose of Western Imperialists in Iran.  I believe in the last analesys those who lost their live in prisons and at war were to be blamed and not spiritually purified persons that happens you like.  The Constitutional Revolution that came out of the POLO pots at the British embassy in Tehran went into Reza Khan's bank accounts through 1299 Coup.
