Darius what are you talking about?
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Wed Jan 21, 2009 06:27 PM PSTAs usual, Kerm daree mirizi. And it's totally fine and your usual shtick. However, in this case, you sound like a dolt. For you see, the mania was at its peak back in October or so because there was this stupid thing called "ELECTION" taking place (I wish we could just have kings and queens and be done with it when the old man croaks, but this is different). As in competition. So many of us were driven to support. Now that we won, we get to observe. Or maybe you'd like us to still blog about McCain and Palin? Even they (well one of them) has moved on.
I'm so happy Obama won and McPalin lost. However, that doesn't mean I need to continue to blog in fifth gear still. You monarchist anti-dialogue types are never satisfied though. So what am I doing even commenting on this.
As for Obama, it was a great speech. He did a fine job, and it was great to see W be gone. The end.

BBC Farsi TV censored these parts
by Anonymous456789 (not verified) on Wed Jan 21, 2009 09:55 AM PSTBBC Farsi TV DELIBERATELY did not translate the following parts of Obama's speech into Farsi:
"We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you"
"To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West—know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist. "
Your guess as to why they did not translate the parts above is as good as mine but I believe BBC as usual is up to her old tricks.
well maybe mullahs are trying to promote BBC Farsi tv inside Iran by banning it!!!
sorry!
by Anonymous fish (not verified) on Wed Jan 21, 2009 09:37 AM PSTI haven't been online... please forgive me!
I've spent every waking minute watching the inaugeral celebrations. We danced right along with B&M to our favorite Etta James song!

Shouldn't You be in Bed Madame ?
Mes Salutations Respectueuses ...
too many assumptions Mr Kadivar
by IRANdokht on Tue Jan 20, 2009 09:37 PM PSTDid you even think that it might be because we've already heard it, recorded it, discussed it all day at work and home and emails with friends? Just because you don't see comments here, you can't conclude disenchantment or pessimism.
I am watching the inaugural ball and my favorite first couple dancing and having a great time. We worked hard to get him the votes and we're celebrating and hoping for a better future.
Please do not bring in such negativity. It hurts my liberal Obama-loving soul! :0)
