Crap I realized I misspelled
by desi on Wed Feb 11, 2009 08:46 AM PSTCrap I realized I misspelled your name. That's what I get for not double checking before posting. So sorry, Kaveh.
Geez Kazeh you have a great
by desi on Wed Feb 11, 2009 08:44 AM PSTGeez Kazeh you have a great track record for cars. Does this Pinto have the transmission of a Fiero and the suspension of a Pacer too? :) I may have to double up on my life insurance policy before getting in.

by Kaveh Nouraee on Wed Feb 11, 2009 08:27 AM PSTPintos are known to combust over 55mph.
Yes, I know, so I had the engine from a Chevy Vega installed. At 55 MPH, the aluminum engine simply melts.
I used to drive a Fiat, but whenever I used the windshield washer fluid, the car would start to rust right before my eyes.
The worst was when I hit a puddle. The car disintegrated.
You are right!
by 2012 (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 11:34 PM PSTAnon. 999,
I have to give you an A. Most Persians think he is not like McCaine or Bush. His speech is like him. "Oh...vote for him...he won't attack IRAN..." Dig your brains! He is a US President. He is not a Muslim.
Hawks are hanging all over obamas sleeves.
by Anonymous..... (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 11:29 PM PSTI think the only real security solution is for Iran to hurry and develop defensive nuclear weapons to protect itself from barbaric aggressors abroad. Until then, these barbarians (pelosi, Fienstein, Chaney, the Getty family, Speilberg's, Bush's alike) will continue to brainwash US tax payers with excuses to bomb Iran for no reason other that getting their dirty palms all over Iran's resources not to mention the reconstruction revenue they'll generate for themselves at the expense of innocent lives on both sides. Which means the remaining citizens on both sides will end up working their whole life to pay for the freedom bombs that these hawks dispatched over Iran. All in the name of freedom and democracy for world peace!
The ironic part of this is that the Mullah's are worse than cockroaches. Not even a nuclear bomb can wipe these guys out. Except unlike roaches, they'll dispatch their own costly surprise back at the west as they have consistently done so over the past 30 years. When are these idiots in washington going to wake up?
An aggressive US policy is sure to increase sales and demand for turbins.
Here's why I think Obama is
by desi on Tue Feb 10, 2009 09:27 PM PSTHere's why I think Obama is saying something differently about Iran. I think Iran may want to rethink its soapbox especially after the June elections. There may be some investments in the wings.

Kaveh, It will happen. So start up that Pinto. Remember not to rev it too hot. Pintos are known to combust over 55mph.
could you please tell me...
by Anonymous99999999999999 (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 08:02 PM PSTcould you please tell me why you are praising Obama? has he said something different than Bush??? you guys need to check your brains, because it is not working. he's saying the same things as Bush. Same old (false or true) allegations. America won't learn, because America is so arrogant. and if any one thinks obama is different, then i feel sorry for them.
Obama is really trying to be a good president
by Ali Sefati (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 05:38 PM PSTbut I am not sure how the special interests, and also the Mullas in Iran, are going to welcome his view!
Terror is Obama! It is
by Boogh (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 05:01 PM PSTTerror is Obama! It is reflected in his face. Terror is the American support of the occupation of Palestine. All those groups who fight Israel are mere freedom-fighters, and they are saving the face of humanity by doing sacrifice in resisting the aggressors and occupiers.
Fishie Dear
by Kaveh Nouraee on Tue Feb 10, 2009 02:26 PM PSTIf he manages to pull it off.....I'll gladly lug the piggy bank up the 405 and take you both to happy hour. We'll take my 1972 Pinto.
Believe me when I tell you, he's not the one I worry about. It's the rest of the Dems...the Pelosis and the Reids who think that because they have their guy in the Oval Office now, that they can do anything they want.
I honestly don't envy Obama for a second. Sometimes I wonder if he wakes up in the middle of the night and says, "I campaigned my ass off for THIS?"

and i meant to mention that i agreed with desi's comment. i think we need to let a little dust settle before making any serious strategic efforts. make 'em sweat a little...:-)
not only is he a better speaker, he's a hell of alot better looking than that foolish wuss GW.
k. we're gonna to be looking for you specifically in about 6-8 months (regarding the doubting thomas'). save your pennies, you're going to take the husband and me out for happy hour. :-)
Whoop Dee Do
by Kaveh Nouraee on Tue Feb 10, 2009 01:56 PM PSTSo Obama spoke in measured tones about Iran. And before he can find the last words to finish his remarks, everyone is putting the cart before the horse and heaping blind praise on him.
Obama hasn't said anything different than W did, in so far as substance, but he certainly did speak differently as far as style.
The Fish is right. It's a two-way street. But right now, there are more important domestic issues to deal with before worrying about bringing a smile to Antarinejad's miserable ugly face.
Obama's every word about
by teapot (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 12:10 PM PSTObama's every word about Iran was calculated and codified. He's already got the IR figured out; and the IRI knows that they can't mess with Obama; hence, the conciliatory tone of Ahmadinejad today.
No more free rides on the back of stupidity of the Bush Admin. This is the change we want...

by anonymous fish on Tue Feb 10, 2009 11:14 AM PSTwill come forward when significant changes are made under obama. i will, for my part, be humbled if he doesn't.
he's intelligent (the first and biggest change so far) and far-thinking. but it's not all about the US making efforts. it's a two-way street. let's hope iran makes an effort as well.
peace out.

More charming than Bush but
by Mehrnaz (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 10:22 AM PSTgoing past the composure, eloquence and good looks and of course the advantage of colour, Obama is repeating the same mantra as Bush. All the same assumptions or lies persist: 'Hezbollah and Hamas are terrorists', 'Iran's longstanding hostility towards the US', 'Iran's threat towards Israel', 'Iran's destablising role in the region', 'Iran's possession of or pursuit of nuclear weapons', 'all options on the table - including diplomatic'. With the usual omissions: Israel's terrorism and even its recent war crimes it Gaza (the blood is still fresh and the bombing continues); Israel's massive stockpile of nuclear weapons; not to mention, US as the occupier and the aggressor in the region, rather than the other way round!! Remember the infamous cartoon of Iranians swarming out of sewers infecting the Middle East?!!! That paradigm stays on. Obama spoke of the US's concerns about Iran's behaviour, he failed however to appreciate or acknowledge that there might possibly be any concerns about the behaviour of US on the part of Iran!! The mention of Iran's "rights" was welcome but unclear what those rights were, whereas the 'concerns' were articulated and very clear indeed. The stance, despite the apparent civilised tone (We have just got too accustomed to Bush) remained superior, presumptuous and demanding.
I am neither a fan nor detest Obama. There are political and economic exigencies for the US to pursue a less confrontation stance towards Iran, but I believe, if the 'diplomatic' option fails, the stakes will be high and highly dangerous. The diplomatic option itself, in the light of the US's expressed "concerns" and omissions, seems to be 'Give up or get bombed, but we'll talk it first". Diplomacy makes the US sound reasonable, having gone through all the options, including direct talk, and Iran looking intransigent. Israel lobby continues to exert great influence over Obama's administration too, and is pushing for war with Iran.

by MRX1 on Tue Feb 10, 2009 10:12 AM PSTHis answeres are long because he does not know what to say.He is not fit for this job. The longer time passes the more people realize he is an empty suite.....
But back to Iran, you have china, russia, E.U and just about any other country or group out there working hand with hand with mullah's to exploit Iran and pocket the money and why not, Iran is sacred cow that provides free milk to every one. So why not U.S? I can't wait for him to seat down sar sofreh with ahmadinjead and eat abgoosht. Economey in U.S is in bad shape so,let American exploit Iran too!
I'm not use to this, his answers can be 7 minutes long

I agree with most comments here,BUT!
by Benyamin on Tue Feb 10, 2009 06:13 AM PSTI am an Obama fan, I liked him the first time I saw him talking and ever since I supported him. But I am a abit shall we say disappointed when AFTER he got elected. the very first person he chose was Raum Emanuel!!! That guy means trouble, and that guy makes me worried since he is part of HAWKISH zionist group living in America. He is I think born in Israel and his father is one of the Terrorists that actually faught and killed for the existance of Israel. If I have piqued your curiosity please google his name.
I have a feeling he is either working or connected to ILLUMINATIES!
But I am still a fan of Obama with caution.
Diplomatic solution is not going to be easy
by Toofantheoncesogreat (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 06:01 AM PSTOnly way the conservative bunch of the IRI would accept a cease of support for Hamas and Hezbollah would be if the US held Israel accountable for its peace deals and promises, for example full withdrawal from south of lebanon.
The nuclear issue is another thing. Obama here is lying against his own CIA report that stated that Iran stopped pursuing nukes in 2003. If Obama accepts a limit on how many centrifuges Iran can build, which must be between 10 to 20 thousand, and Iran accepts the additional protocol of the IAIE, Israel will have a guarantee that it will be the only ME nuke power.
I doubt that they will meet eye to eye on these two issues. I hope, but like Ive said since the beginning, Obama is more dangerous to Iran than Bush. If the talks fail, all the more reason for sanctions and war. I hope Im wrong.
gut churning
by Anonymous. (not verified) on Tue Feb 10, 2009 12:21 AM PSTAs the press conference goes on, and mentions of how not a single republican supports the stimulus package, makes you wonder what is wrong with the American political system...he's the best thing that ever happened to the country, he's got the poise and calm resolve a president should, rational optimism not irrational exuberance, will be the only chance at restoring faith in America. Does the country have consistent values anymore? North Dakota's economy is doing great, perhaps a more local and confederated nation, less global and federated, kind of like the American Freedom party stance...politics is a sport for the cool, calm, and collected.

by desi on Mon Feb 09, 2009 09:48 PM PSTWhat a refreshing change of pace. I do think that he should wait until the June elections before extending diplomacy.
With those rights come some responsibilites.
by Ostaad on Mon Feb 09, 2009 09:42 PM PSTGW never ever mentioned any rights for Iran. In fact Condi Rice, who certainly spoke for the Bushies, insisted Iran has NO rights.
Intresting!!!
