BBC: Iranian and Russian nuclear officials have begun a test run of Iran's first nuclear power plant. The test involves dummy rods that imitate the enriched uranium needed to run the Russian-built plant at Bushehr. The test is likely to fuel fears in the West about Iran's nuclear ambitions, though Tehran says they are peaceful. An Iranian official told journalists at Bushehr that Iran had increased the number of its centrifuges enriching uranium at another site to 6,000 >>>

looks like shah's dreams coming true
by Shahanshah (not verified) on Thu Feb 26, 2009 02:28 PM PSTLooks like all the Shah's plans and dreams are coming true thirty years later. One problem though, it's a Islamic Republic that doesn't make u feel too good about. But still, not bad to have this, Shahanshah also knew this and if people let him he would have done the same, only better

by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Thu Feb 26, 2009 08:44 AM PSTThe first Persian comment was my comment on another article. This one is from a differnt one explaining why everyone who opposed IRI on this site is called an Israeli agent. Mola jan, this one again is for you:
It is not an accident that a certain roaming band of characters on this site regularly labels everyone who disagrees with IRI's policy and the status quo as "Zionists", "Israeli agents" or Israelis. This is the official IRI policy. They do it inside Iran as well. Mohsen Sazegara mentions it in this article:
//iranian.com/main/2009/feb-25
It is a very effective way of silencing the opposition. It's kind of like George Bush calling everyone who disagreed with him a terrorist sympathizer. Here's how it works: the IRI and Israel are at a war of words over IRI's support of Hezbollah and Hamas and Israel's threat to attack Iran's nuclear sites. Taking advantage of this situation, the IRI has succeeded, through its well funded and well organized propaganda machine, of convincing Iranians inside and outside of Iran that Israel is their mortal enemy. IRI's agents and supporters, in turn, roam the internet and Iranian sites and look for differing points of views and for those who disagree with IRI's official line and the status quo. They then immediately label those who disagree as "Zionists" and "Israeli agents". This will then portray everyone who disagrees with the status quo as an "enemy agent" and therefore makes their arguments "foreign", dangerous and irrelevant. It's quite simple actually. All it takes though is for an objective individual to take a step back and see the nature of these accusations and one can easily see that there's a pretty consistent rhythm to them. After all, they all get their talking points from the same source!!!!

by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Thu Feb 26, 2009 08:40 AM PSTشما میتونید که یک کامنت بنویسید که در آن از اسرائیل حرف نزنید؟

It is manly to do so. Congratulations to all Iranians who supported their government through the darkest hours of Western threats and sanctions. We will someday return the favor to the West as well. It is only fair.
WTF??? What's manly?? Toudei anyone?

too much hip by Iran
by shirazie (not verified) on Wed Feb 25, 2009 07:54 PM PSTSo they turned on some water pumps. without radiation and heat generation is like sitting in your garage and pretend to driving your dad's car.
IRI is making lots of noise with an empty can. The shah bought couple of obsolete BWR (boiling water reactors) and announced "we have arrived". hand out scholarships ( I got one- thanks). BWR's were scraped before delievry. Not mention the french assessment study in 1970's at 30 million dollar cost
Then came Russians to place their reactor in place without fuel. Another white elephant.
Quit fooling yourselves. Iran is playing a head game with the west. Iran could buy or has bought couple of Nukes to deter the Jews and Arabs.
Go Solar
I hope
by MRX1 on Wed Feb 25, 2009 05:28 PM PSTIt does not fall apart like the chernobel one and make that corner of Iran and places accross gulf with no name unliveable. One thing is for sure Russians managed to stick it to Iran extremely well. One day we will find out the true cost but we have to wait after IRI is gone.....
Inside
by Abol Danesh, Ph.D. From UCR (not verified) on Wed Feb 25, 2009 03:41 PM PST... it is not clear if ever the russians "bring in" the nuclear fuel inside the plant for the fear of nuclear catastrophe with no check and balance so the proverbial "Cheragh Moshee" begin to lit with "naft" inside...

Show gratitude to the Russians
by Kurush (not verified) on Wed Feb 25, 2009 01:28 PM PSTand be prepared to reciprocate. It was Lenin who showed gratitiude to the Iranian revolutionaries as they became the conduite for revolutionary writings of Lenin himself in Iskra. Revolutionry pamphlets were carried through Iran to Russia as the Russian revolutionaries prepared to overthrow the bigoted Czar. Lenin never forgot and when was in power unilaterally anulled all treaties Russia had unjustly imposed upon Iran. There is so much room for improvemnt of relations with the Russians. As Iraninas ws must show gratitiude to them. It is manly to do so. Congratulations to all Iranians who supported their government through the darkest hours of Western threats and sanctions. We will someday return the favor to the West as well. It is only fair.
Well done.

I took out
My favorite
Dried out
Maple leaf
That I was hiding it for long sleep
Between the pages of
My favorite book
Now I let the sun shine
Touch the leaf on its "edge" straight through
With its shadow now casting
On my favorite book
In a shape identical with its own stem
But quite longer
I put the flattened leaf
Back in its book bed
With all the lights off
Toward its long uninterrupted sleep
