Shaheen Jafargholi

12 year old auditions for the judges on Britains Got Talent 2009

Incredible voice!

Daily Star Sunday -- BOY singer Shaheen Jafargholi wowed Simon Cowell with a Michael Jackson hit – then set his sights on meeting the King of Pop himself. The 12-year-old starred as the young Jacko in a theatrical tour of Thriller. And he dreams of seeing the wacko star at London’s O2 Arena this summer. He said: “To see him live would be amazing. I hope he sees me on Britain’s Got Talent. It would be a dream come true to actually go and watch him, so here’s hoping that the show or Simon Cowell can make it happen.” He added, cheekily: “I’d love to meet Michael. We could even compare notes on performing!”

But it nearly all ended in disaster for Shaheen when Simon halted him seconds into his rendition of The Zutons’ hit Valerie and told him he’d made a mistake. He confessed: “At that moment I thought I’d blown my only chance. “I had this huge ‘uh oh’ moment and expected to be walking straight off the stage.” But then he blew the crowd away with his version of the Jackson Five’s Who’s Loving You. Shaheen continued: “I couldn’t believe my luck when Simon gave me a second chance and asked for another song>>>

It's sad .....

It's sad if you look at the Video before Simon allows (Shaheen jafaragholi ) to sing a second time ~ or a redo ... Simon is actually flips him off ... maybe there is a bigger story behind all this ... check out the video again ....

your comment about Simon

by Kati (not verified) on

Dear Ari,

i have not watched the show but if you don't mind i would like to reply to you.

just by living in one of the most multicultural societies of the world, i can tell you that British never dare to do what seems to have happened to Shahin, to a British. i am not racist, i work for Hospice too. doing charity work has nothing to do with this. if this happens in Iran, unfortunately it is a Norm and many of us is not proud of it. but this is not Norm in Britain.

all the best.

Bravo to this young man

by Kaveh Nouraee on

Great voice, and he has proven that he can quickly adapt under pressure.

At first, Simon may appear to some as the jerk, but it goes to show that he knows his stuff. The first song didn't showcase Shaheen's obvious talent and abilities the way the second song did. Simon Cowell didn't get to be the success that he is by being nice.

I can't believe the professionalism of this boy at the age of 12

by Anonymous77 (not verified) on

He got stopped thrown into seriously deep waters and just did his job.
Also quite a thing that the welsh language furthers so much voice talent

Britain's Got Talent

by Dundeesmom (not verified) on

I thought Shaheen had a great voice but my feelings are that Simon should have let him continue with the song he started with - he's there to judge the performance - not stick his nose in the song that wasa chosen and also, I'm shocked that after he told him what to do - he gave him a standiong ovation when he didn't to Susan Boyle - I can tell where this is going!! This is why I don't watch his shows here in America - he's a idiot!!

Just because he has a

by fs (not verified) on

Just because he has a non-existent iranian father (who's not in his life!) it doesn't mean that he is an iranian!!!!!!! He has never met his father! He lives with his mom (who isn't even english!) So basically he's not even english!!!!!!

And a standing ovation for Simon Cowell

Bache Shir, Simon is a pretty nice fellow. He puts a lot of effort and money into The Association of Children's Hospices in England, for kids who have life limiting illnesses. He is also quite active with PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).

You are underestimating the role of the producer/director in this successful show. The performers are pre-auditioned, and the pre-audtion judges would have known right away that Shaheen's strongest song was "Who's loving you," not his favorite: "Valerie."  They likely saw the opportunity to help Shaheen shine by setting up the audience for the "ugly ducking" effect. Shaheen was probably unaware of the showbiz trick being played, but performers tend to forgive the director's professional cruelty once they realize what a favor he/she has done them. By the way two of Iran's greatest directors, Kiarostami and Makhmalbaf are notorious for playing tricks with actors to bring out the best in them. In this case Simon is sacrificing himself to a bully image so that little Shaheen could "show him up."

Shaheen your are Awesome!!!

and Simon is no "genius" he's simply a cock-sucker! Shaheen with his great singing showed Simon what kinda jerk he really is.

Best wishes to Shaheen!!!!

Beautiful voice!

by choghok on

What can you say, gods gift.

I hope that he is left to grow up before he is shot into fame.

I guess Simon thing was rehearsed otherwise it is too cruel to put up a kid through that pressure.

Ari Siletz

Potential serious talent

by Ari Siletz on

And IRANdokht is right, Simon did a great job. Especially in terms of creating drama which set up the audience for the big surprise. What a voice! Here's some criticism for our little genius. Comparing with the original Michael Jackson version, the blues pulse is much more distinct in Jackson's singing. This comes from Jackson's voice being ready to explode into the phrase with almost no rise time.

Simon is a genius at this job

by IRANdokht on

Simon was absolutely right about the first song. Shaheen's voice was much better than that!

What a great little performer. What a great video clip. I watched it twice in a row and I am totally amazed.

Thank you Sarshar for sharing.

OH MY GOD.

Can this kid sing or can he SING?
I could never understood why Simon can't stop being the J-e-r-K most of the times, But this little guy sure gave him something it will take a long time for him to forget.
