Night Of The Deep Bloom is Atoosa's third album, which truly showcases her songwriting and performing abilities. A singer/songwriter, Atoosa is an established New York City musician with a very loyal following. Her recent popularity is directly correlated with her three quality albums and willingness to hit the road. Her latest effort, Night Of The Deep Bloom, masterfully produced by Brad Albetta and Cameron Greider, is a painfully beautiful journey through hope, pain, love and passion. Her vocal melodies and lyrics work perfectly with her music. The Joni Mitchell influence is definitely apparent. The album captured me from the first song "Yellow Reversal" and took me on a journey, which brought me back full circle to where the album started, featuring the song "Question for You". My favorites are "The Room" and "Real" which have the patented Atoosa's lyrical folk with a touch of pop. She also keeps thing fresh and exciting by experimenting with some pure pop on "Into the Sun" which at first caught me by surprise, but its always great to hear musicians experimenting with other sounds that bring more variety to the work. And in this case it keeps the album moving along and gets the listener ready for the very melancholic and personal second half of the album, which she pulls off beautifully.

There are a lot of singer/songwriters these days, especially in New York City, but only a few have the lyrical talents to stand out and offer something precious. Night Of The Deep Bloom is evidence that Atoosa belongs with this selected few. I look forward in hearing more from Atoosa, and leave you with the final words from the album, "But now I've got a question or two for you/ what do you do/do you stop living when you're stuck/ and the boat leaves the harbor and takes your freedom."
