I will agree with several others who say that responding with even more killing will only keep alive what is most hateful.  Life behind bars, with constant reminders of all of the lives their evil and hateful and blasphemous actions have destroyed, would be more suited to their crimes.   And I do not think I saw Colonel Javanmardi of the IRGC on the list.  He as much as confessed to being a cold-blooded child murderer: "If we catch you again we will put you to death just like those boys in Mashhad".  I would personally like to stare in his eyes, accuse him of being a devil worshiper and child murderer, and bathe his face in my own blood.

We as a nation with 2500 years of civilization can show what we are made of by putting a lot of them behind bars for the rest of their natural life.

There are good reasons for this;

1- Killing them will help them to finish with their MISERY in jail. In other words death is best thing for them. BUT we don't want that for them, do we.

2- We never learn why they did what they did.

Do you seriously want us to ask democratic representatives in democratic countries to involve themselves in military security issues and to vote for murder campaigns? Have you ever even considered the risk these countries must take? Have you ever considered the alternatives after these criminals have been murdered? It takes months to just gather intelligence on how one person lives, works etc in order to perform assassinations, and your list was very long and growing... Also have you considered if one person is assassinated, that that person will be replaced immediately?

It has been proven in history that new governments that install themselves through violence (regardless of how the former regime operated) will continue to use violence to solve tough issues. There is an opportunity here in Iran to actually show a new face in the middle east. Currently we have the most experience in the region. If we look at Egypt, they are a light version of us because the first reaction in middle eastern countries after a dictator falls is to go back to islam, we have done this in Iran more than 30 years ago, so therefore we are a step ahead today and need to seek something better and pure for our future.

Trials for criminals, sure. Death penalties & assassinations, no! Life in prison, definitely!

If the children and relatives are targets too, then it's pretty safe to say that whatever replaces the mullahs would be just as bad if not worse.

I thnk Khalkhali's remains and that of Khomeini's should be exhumed and be incinerated. Before that their coffins should be taken into the highest tribunal where they will be sybollically tried and then taken into a crematorium where they will never be seen again. 1. If you believe that the Iranian people will be victorious, then we must all wait for that day, and put on trial - fair with independent judges trials - all those who have committed crimes.

2. Targetted assassination is state-sponsored terrorism, pure and simple. I do not care who committs it, whether it is the VF regime, or the U.S., or Israel, or France, or ..... (all four have done so).

3. Aside from anything else, the list has errors. For example, Ayatollah Hossein Vahid Khorasani is an opponent of Khamenei, and refuses to meet with him whenever Khamenei goes to Qum. He has met the families of political prisoners frequently, has repeatedly spoken about them publicly, has never held any position in the entire VF regime history, has told his son-in-law that he will burn in hell for being the judiciary chief, and has attacked Khamenei many times.

If military action removes mullahs

If and only if the military action leads to removal of cancer from our country, I agree with military action. Stinky mullahs are killing Iranian people on daily basis. Needless to say our vigin sister were being raped the night before their execution, but on the other hand, western media is talking about  "Israel or American air strike to nucler facilities". It doesn't say anything about removing mullahs from power. These are 2 different things. Bombing nuke facilities doesn't necessary leads to regime change or removal of mullahs from power.  We shouldn't make mistake. No one like the mother land to be bombed. In other word, Israel or westerners are just trying to delay mullah's access to atomic bomb and nothing else.

   I also see mullah's agent on this blog. Shame on this person who is selling Iran, and Iranian people for a few bucks he/she is  receiving from his/her masters.

Target Assassinations are legal

VPK You are right its not up to you and I to order target assassinations but we can convince the US State Department to extend its War on Terror on rooting out IR Terrorists just as it did with the killing of Anwar Al-Aklaki in Pakistan. 

Target Assassinations are fully legal under US Law as the Councl on Foreign Relations put it:

It is not the killing of people who have different political opinions but the assassination of people who assert a threat to lives of others. It is a pre-emptive strategy of self defence.

Since the IR is a Terrorist sponsoring country according to the Statet Department and has sponsored terrorist violence against civilians and US troops in Iraq, Lebanon and beyond it is entirely legal to call for the assassination of senior members of the IR who are responsible for killing of civilians. The alleged assassination plot against the Saudi Ambassador on US soil shows that the IR Terrorist government still poses a threat to its citizens and allies abroad.

Neither I, or you, or any one else, unfortunately can assassinate members of the Islamic Republic. Make no mistake if there was a legal law by which empowered citizens to kill a Terrorist, especially one from the Islamic Republic I would have no hesitation to carry out if I had half the chance. But I can't. So I won't.

But what I can do. Is ask for the US government to continue its target assassination campaign into the borders of Iran and start to take out any one from my list then I would be a very happy man indeed. I would imagine most sane Iranians would be too.  

A great idea

Somebody like JJ et al. should make a website called mohakemeh.com or something like that. Then make it open accessed, like Wikipedia, with admin oversight, where people can enter the names and addresses and positions of every basiji, politician, mullah, cyberpasdar, etc. Then spread the word around so that lots of people start using the free service. We can even rank the lists according to how many people they've killed or how much money they've stolen. And make sure the website is in both English and Farsi. 

Im sure the website will attract a lot of followers.  Then leave the rest to time and the people. Justice will prevail.

I don't see any point in discussing military options here. You should know these are not up to you and I. Because we do not run a secret agency or air force. Most of this is blowing steam; rants and rave.

Nobody gives a *** if I were to say "aerial bombardment" or "nothing". Why bother? The only useful thing is to get the names out so people know who they are. When time is right people with power will decide what to do.

It was not unrestrained violence that got us here. But Mollahs; Islamic law and stupidity of people. The revolution was not particularly violent. Shah was very restrained.

I may argue that it was too much restrain by Shah that got us here. That and the gullibility of population.

Post IRI execution is pointless but pre-IRI Shah might have handle Khomeini.

Getting ahead

People you got to slow down and think some. Before doing anything you have to overthrow IRI. Then I hope a just and fair trial is given to all accused people. But I have a few other things to add:

• Personally I oppose capital punishment. Therefore I will never ask for assassination of anyone. There are a few instances such as self defense where killing may be justified. But no execution; we had plenty.
• Nobody here is in a position to order assassination. Therefore all this is just ranting.  People get emotional; rant and let your anger out now. Better here than by real action.
• I am for free speech but assassination is illegal. Nobody in their right mind asks their MP for it. If a government does so it will be done in secret. By all means ask for their trial but asking for assassination is just silly.
• MG: please do not make it personal. I share your position but why do you have to name call. And why use every opportunity to score points for "Kurdistan Movement". This blog has nothing to do with it.
• I agree with RG about the environment. The problem must be attacked at source. The environment of Akhoond bazi must be cleaned up. Otherwise you kill one; another one pops up just like Taliban.
• People on IC rant but how will people in Iran act. After the IRI goes it will be up to people there not use to decide. It is hard to imagine what people will do: if I were them I'd run now.

If we were having this conversation twenty years ago you would have been absolutely correct. No room for doubt. Given that other countries in the Middle East and beyond have had disctatorships and managed to topple the tyrants running their country into the ground or entered into power sharing agreements we are light years behind. Hell, even Morgan Tsvangerai has managed to succeed where Mir Hussein Mousavi has failed in the Tinpot Republic of Zimbabwe under Mugabe.
