It is a great pleasure to introduce the Momeni Foundation's year 2008 scholarship award recipients to you. This year we are awarding $18,000 dollars to 28 well deserving students.

The following students have demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academics and social/civic causes.

Scholastic Achievement Scholarships (Total = $4,000 USD)
---------------------------------------

Ms. Leila Haghighat - $1000 Award

Ms. Haghighat of San Jose, CA graduated high school with a GPA of 4.00 and a long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will be pursuing a degree in General Biology at University of California - San Diego.

Ms. Anaheed Heydari - $1,000 Award

Ms. Heydari of Bakersfield, CA graduated high school with a GPA of 4.0 and a long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will be pursuing a degree in Psychology at UCLA, in Los Angeles, CA.

Ms. Christina Khavarian - $1000 Award

Ms. Khavarian of San Diego, CA graduated with a GPA of 4.0 and long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will be pursuing a degree in Neuroscience & International Business at Claremont McKenna University in Claremont, CA.

Ms. Tara Sharifan - $1000 Award

Ms. Sharifan of Salt Lake City, UT graduated with a GPA of 3.9 and long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will be pursuing a degree in Psychology and Pre-Med at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT.

Financial Assistance Scholarships – US Residents (Total = $11,500)

Mr. David Arash Darbandi - $750 Award

Mr. Darbandi of Tucson, AZ maintains a GPA of 3.9 at The University of Arizona where he is pursuing a degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Darbandi is receiving a scholarship for the sixth year.

Mr. Hamid Reza Baniasadi - $750 Award

Mr. Baniasadi of Muncie, IN maintains a GPA of 3.9 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN where he is pursuing a PhD in Chemistry. Mr. Baniasadi is receiving a scholarship for the second year.

Ms. Mariam Ameri - $750 Award

Ms. Ameri of Gaithersburg, MD attends SABA University of Netherlands-Antilles, where she is pursuing a degree in Medicine.

Ms. Susan Ghanbarpour - $750 Award

Ms. Ghanbarpour of Baltimore, MD attends John Hopkins University where she is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Public Health with emphasis in Women’s Health. Ms. Ganbarpour is receiving a scholarship for the second year.

Mr. Ruhollah Alexander Manavi - $750 Award

Mr. Manavi of Alpharetta, GA attends Georgia State University where he is pursuing a degree in History and Religion.

Ms. Setareh Homayoninejad - $750 Award

Ms. Homayoninejad of San Bernardino, CA attends UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where she is pursuing a degree in Philosophy.

Ms. Christina Khavarian - $750 Award

Ms. Khavarian of San Diego, CA graduated with a GPA of 4.0 and long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will be pursuing a degree in Neuroscience & International Business at Claremont McKenna University in Claremont, CA.

Ms. Tina Khojastehfar - $750 Award

Ms. Khojastehfar of El Segundo, CA attends University of California in Irvine, CA where she is pursuing a degree in Biology.

Mr. Nima Salajegheh - $500 Award

Mr. Salajegheh of Atlanta, GA attends Georgia Institute of Technology where he is pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Salajegheh is receiving a scholarship for the fourth time.

Mr. Mani Akhtari - $500 Award

Mr. Akhtari of La Jolla, CA attends University of California in San Diego, CA where he is pursuing a degree in Medicine.

Mr. Eric Arshravan - $500 Award

Mr. Arshravan of Dix Hills, NY is attending University of Rhode Island where he is pursuing a degree in Business, Finance and Engineering.

Ms. Rokhsan Ghaziaskar - $500 Award

Ms. Ghaziaskar of Fayetteville, PA attends Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, PA where she is pursuing a Masters degree in Professional Counseling.

Mr. Pouya Alimagham - $500 Award

Mr. Alimagham of Newport Beach, CA attends Harvard University in Cambridge, MA where he is pursuing a degree in Middle Eastern Studies.

Mr. Mohammad Moravati Sharifabadi - $500 Award

Mr. Moravati Sharifabadi of Austin, TX attends University of Texas in Austin, TX where he is pursuing a PhD in Economics.

Ms. Mehrnaz Fallah - $500 Award

Ms. Fallah of Houston, TX attends University of Houston in Houston, TX where she is pursuing a degree in Accounting.

Ms. Shadi Alaghehbandzadeh - $500 Award

Ms. Alaghehbandzadeh of Los Angeles, CA attends UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where she is pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science.

Ms. Maryam Rastegar - $500 Award

Ms. Rastegar of San Diego, CA attends UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where she will be pursuing a degree in Psychology and Pre-Law.

Mr. Arash Nayeri - $500 Award

Mr. Nayeri of Santa Monica, CA attends University of Californian in Berkeley, CA where he is pursuing a degree in Medicine.

Mr. Shawheen Moridi - $500 Award

Mr. Moridi of Irvine, CA attends UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where he is pursuing a degree in Business Economics and Pre-Law.

Mr. Akhlaghpour is pursuing a PhD degree in Management from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec - Canada.

Mr. Vazrik Amirjanians - $500 Award (ARMANIA)

Mr. Vazrik Amirjanians is pursuing a degree in Medicine from Yervan State University in Yervan, Armenia.

Mr. Mahmoud Ravnan - $500 Award (ITALY)

Mr. Ravnan is pursuing Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico Di Milano in Milan, Italy.

Mr. Aminollah Sabzevari - $500 Award (CANADA)

Mr. Sabzevari is pursuing a degree in Law from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Mr. Sabzevari is receiving a scholarship for the second year.

Mr. Saeed Shobeiri - $500 Award (CANADA)

Mr. Shobeiri of Montreal, QC, CANADA is pursuing a PhD degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Concordia University – John Molson School of Business in Montreal, QC - Canada. Mr. Shobeiri is a fourth year recipient of our scholarship.
