I think that Shaer's style...

the very short verses and the use of quotation marks are an instance of the FORM of the poem capturing the poet's psychic state...I think they reflect an understanding of the limitations of language, ANY language, ALL language, no matter how purified, how poetic, how spiritual, is stll not ESSENCE. Rumi voiced similar concerns, he insisted that no matter how CLOSE his poetry approached essence, it still was only words.

While I do agree that the form makes the poems somewhat difficult to read, I think the message of the form serves as a crucial reminder of their meaning.  And all poets go through phases, I'm sure Shaer will work in other forms when he knows it's time. For now this is his expression as it calls him to express, precisely to express that what most needs to be expressed is INEFFABLE, it's what he needs to do, and so he does. We should all be so close to our calling, to what calls us...

PS As regards toxicity, Nadia, check out today's "Stuff".  The name of the song is "Toxicity."  Well, here's to purification...we all do the best we can....or so I like to believe, anyway....

Every poet has their own distinct style of writing poetry. It is what allows them or helps them in their  process to write a poem.

I think it makes them unique and interesting to read. Like I was discussing with others on the website.

 Every person takes something different from a poem. Yes, there are even cases when someone gains nothing from reading a poem. Such is life.

I happen to like Shae'r poems, they are about spiritual and renewing to me. I especially like coming back and reading them after being on a very toxic thread.
