According to the website Iran Human Rights, a child offender identified as Mohammadreza Tork will be executed tomorrow morning. Location of the execution is not certain yet.
He will be executed along with 2 other men. All 3 are convicted of murder in a village near Malayer November 2005. At that time Mohammadreza was 16 years and 4 months old (born in June 1989), and now he is 18 years and 4 months old.
The Iranian government has ratified UN’s convention of the rights of the child, according to which death penalty should not be given for the crimes convicted before the age of 18.
Norway protest the planned execution of Mohammadreza Tork
According to the newspaper Aftenposten, the Norwegian department of foreign relations has contacted Iran's ambassador in Norway, and expressed concern about the execution of Mohammadreza Tork, which is planned to take place tomorrow. The ambassador promised to relay the message to the Iranian government.
"We have gotten confirmation that the execution will take place tomorrow and that [Mohammadreza] was 16 years when the crime was committed," says advisor Kristin Melsom to the news agency NTB.

Child Murderer Will Grow into an Adult Murderer
by Irani Human (not verified) on Thu Nov 15, 2007 06:01 PM PSTExecute the killers before they kill again.
Experience has proven many times that no one changes deep down by time, if he can kill once he can kill again. Get these animals off of the streets.
BUT FIRST MAKE SURE THAT THE MURDER WAS INTENTIONAL NOT AN ACCIDENT AND SIMPLE NEGLIGENCE.
Isn't he a murderer?? I am
by Anonymous34344 (not verified) on Thu Nov 15, 2007 10:07 AM PSTIsn't he a murderer?? I am completely for the death penalty. An eye for eye. Of course, it's terrible that Iran doesn't have a justice system where defendents would be represented in a fair trial. In his case, juvenile court, which would not condemn him to death. Would you please provide details of the crime whenever you put these posts up? Where is his victim now? Also, who is Norway to protest this crime? Should I list the crimes they've committed in wars, against immigrants and so on???? Get a grip people. This is a shame, yes. It shouldn't take place. But let's be clear on who is doing what. It is the law of that country that if you kill someone you are killed, that's Iran. If you don't like it, don't kill. Again, it is not right to hang a child in public. They should be represented and have a trial and all. But I have nothing against the death penatly.

child killers
by Jahanshah Rashidian on Thu Nov 15, 2007 09:26 AM PSTI condemn this juvenile verdict but am not convinced to send an email to these criminal IRI's seniors whose emails are above.
Perhaps, a petition for some international judicial authorities would be better.
Public hanging?!
by Ben Madadi on Thu Nov 15, 2007 08:05 AM PSTSuch a disgrace... he will probably be hanged for the little children of Iran to openly see what can await them in the future.
