One of the most touching love songs of the early seventies Iran must have been Khoda Chera Ashegh Shodam. It was sung by the hitherto unknown singer Mahmoud Vasfi who was debuted in the late Fereidoon Farrokhzad's popular show, Meekhak Noghre'ee.

man midoonam ke in ahang baraye avalin bar betavasote Mahmoud Vasfi khandeh shode va in avakher ham be tavasote Andy.vali yadame ke to salhaye 1370's ye ejraye dige az in ahang to ye album bevasileye yenafar dige khande shod ke benazare man behtarin ejraye in ahange...

I can not stop listening to this song, and you are right , we were the lucky ones,even though it was short lived for our generation. Because of my love , my life has changed to a point that I would have never guessed,or imagined.  May be someday I write about it on this site.

Thank you. I guess we all go through this beautiful phase one way or the other. Lucky those whose lives flourish and evolve in passing through this phase. My generation, and if I am not being impertinent, yours as well, saw better days than today's youth who grow in Iran. This beautiful song with the heavenly voice of Mahmoud reminds me of mixed memories some pleasant, some painful. I guess we should be grateful to have had the exprience.

Oh my God!

Thank you samavar, for posting this song, I have totally forgotten the song and the singer. It has brought back so many tender emotions,and yes I was in love when I heard it.

It is such a coincidence, since my son is in love now, and I see him in pain and happiness all the time. Sometimes I get mad why he is acting like this , I guess I am old and jaded, but this song  brought all those emotions back, and I can remember how our guts twists with pleasure when we are young and in love. I guess , I will be more tolerant of him acting weird!!!
