The past, present, and future of Iran in the eyes of a 19 year old Iranian raised in the West.
The attack on Iran is not only economic and political, but also cultural and historical. The very foundations of Iran are being attacked covertly, with help from the same Western powers that would like to see Iran crippled economically and politically.
The very essence of a people are their culture and history, and what better way to destroy a people and a nation than to rewrite their history and make themselves their own enemies? This is being done now, as it has been down since the advent of imperialism and colonialism.
How many Iranians know that the myth of Islam being forced on Iranians by Arabs was propogated in Iran by the British during their stay in the Middle East? How many Arabs know that their hatred of Iranians was incited by the British at the same time? How many Iranians and Arabs know that the whole Persian Gulf naming dispute was created by the British in order to widen the gap between Iranians and Arabs? These are just a few examples.
The idea is to divide and conquer, and it has worked over and over again all around the world, with Africa being the hardest hit by it.
Imperialism and colonialism may appear to have ended, but it is still on going, and the same imperialist and colonialist countries are continuing to add fuel to the fire.
Seperatists and terrorist groups are being funded to literally rewrite the history of Iran. Many Iranians have already been fooled, many dont even know much about the history and culture of Iran to begin with.
With the popularity of the Internet, historical revisionists are able to rewrite history easier than ever. There are hundreds of sites dedicated solely to attacking Iranian culture and history.
This can only stop if we educate ourselves and show the world that we will not stand by and let our history once again disappear on the world stage.
At this rate, however, in one hundred years there will be no Iran, and its history will be so skewed that it would be unrecognizable.
If you support a military strike on Iran, fine, if you support sanctions against Iran, fine, but please, do not support or allow the destruction of Iranian history and culture, which has absolutely nothing to do with the current government.
What will it take for people to see the severity of the situation? Would a list of historical revisionist propaganda that is being pushed forward at this moment help?
Sincerely,
Saied Toossi

You can write books about all other problems we have in Iran - but when you choose to overlook the obvious, dear Saied you look like the biggest fool out there.

Cursory look at the pre-Islamic history will reveal that we were much better off in every aspect of our lives and humanity...Has Islam helped Iranians in contributing to humanity or has it improved our way of life or has it turned us into blind and obdienst slaves and forever victim and fatalistic mentality promoted by corrupt islamic tyrannical clergy industry?

Are you worried the misogynistic and degrading, brutally subjugating, blind obedience to religious tyrants and savage sharia laws of stoning, beating your wife, honor killins, putting your daughters virginity for auction to the highest bidder, slaving women, legal prostitution in forms of sigheh, pedophilia (marriage age of 9) and killing infidels are going to be eliminated? Is that what you are worried about?

by Anonymous1212 (not verified) on Tue Nov 27, 2007 04:56 AM PSTThe first colonialists were moslem arabs who colonized iran not only geographically and physically but mentally and spiritually, which wiped the Iranian culture almost off the map and reduced Iranians to slaves of backward pedophile muhmmad... and we're still paying for the very first colonization by islamic armies. Islamic imperialism uses the same exact tactics of divide and conquere by constantly creating an arbitrary division between the west and the east as if the westerners were some aliens from an outer planet. The westerners were just as backward with no respect for human rights and brutally savage and corrupt as the muslims until they got rid of their their clergies and priests.
At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war.

Cultural ATTACK on IRAN
by Faribors Maleknasri M. D (not verified) on Tue Nov 27, 2007 01:16 AM PSTthe cultural terror being practiced so savagly since 1978/79 by westerns on IRI is by no means a new method. the colonialists knew already how to conquer over africans, asians and nativ americans hundred of years ago. Not very soon but -thanks God - soon enough begann iranians to help themselves against cultral terrorattacks. I just want to give an example. Please acknowledge the folloing:
Iranian photo exhibit helps to change German views on Iran: Atashi
Berlin, Nov 26, IRNA
Germany-Iran-Atashi
The ongoing Iranian photo exhibit, titled 'Made In Tehran' is slowly changing the negative views which many Germans have about Iran, said young Iranian photographer, Mehraneh Atashi in an exclusive interview with IRNA in Berlin on Sunday evening.
"This photo exhibition was very good because it had many visitors.
This is something very positive. I think our statements and art works showed another side (of Iranians)," Atashi said.
She lambasted the western media for misusing the Iran issue "to fill news pages."
Atashi stressed she felt offended by all the political questions which many visitors and journalists raised during the photo exhibit.
The photographer added she made clear during her numerous talks with Germans that it was not her responsibility to discuss political issues.
"As soon as they see that I am a woman who happens to come from Iran, they (German visitors) start to discuss peripheral issues," she said.
"However, I have told them to look at my work and not at where I am coming from and all the other (political) issues," added Atashi who along with five other photographers, Gohar Dashti, Ghazaleh Hedayat, Shadi Ghadirian, Hamila Vakili and Newsha Tavakolian is showcasing her photos at the Berlin-based Cicero gallery.
Atashi who previously displayed her photos at other exhibitions in Paris and London, called the Berlin exhibit "important" since it focused on the art works of six young Iranian photographers who dwell on the issue of identity.
She accused western media outlets of "abusing" the case of Iranian women for their own political purposes.
"Prior to my trip to Germany, I was sure that peripheral issues would be created. It was not anything unusual for me ...," Atashi said.
"They are constantly looking around us but don't see who we are, " she added.
Atashi called on Iranian women not to allow the western media to treat them in a disrespectful way.
"If we were six photographers from any other part of the world, they would not have dealt with us in such a manner," she said.
I, for my side, am sure all these works and exhibitions will not bring the result iranians deserve. because the western are not and have never been cultural beings. I mean "cultural" as the africans and asians understand sense of the word. they are all from a "take away" attitute. Parallel to helding exhibitions and practicing CULTURE - so I think - the iranians should better not miss the developing of thier defending sources. what they are doing anyway. Greetng.
