Poverty in Loreston province of Iran

Really, never mind this $12Billion. What happened to the massive amount of Iran's oil revenue during the past 32 years of islamist regime in general and during ahmadinezhad's presidency in particular when the oil price hit record high?

The people in the video are from the lorestan province of our country. They complain about having no jobs, hope, money and proper housing.

This is an example of the precisely the kind of issue that needs to be highlighted, reported and documented to demonstrate the misrule of Iran by the Islamic Republic.

Also sad to note the number of comments (i.e. lack of them) on such an important issue concerning the welfare of our hamvatans, compared with the number of posts on article about the Palestinian issue currently running.

Divaneh, It's all relative

I have not been to lorestan but I travelled both baloochestan and kurdestan provinces extensively. The poverty in baloochestan in particular is breathtakingly heart breaking. Both balooch and kurd Iranians suffer from the added "disadvantage" of being sunni muslims. Very dangerous situation, making people suscptible to separatist calls.

But in the final analysis, you are absolutely correct, from slum dwelers of south tehran to poor lor, kurd, balooch, azari and rashti, have only one entity to blame for their poverty: the thieves and looters in charge of our country, the leadership of the islamist so called "republic".

I hope some Iranians who think it is only Kurdistan Azerbaijan or Baluchistan that suffers now realise that the suffering and abuse in Iran is universal.
