A white piñata

A white piñata

Who says Palestine is a country?

Or even a territory made of lands?

Palestine is a white piñata

Since it is being hit

By blindfoldeds with stick in their hands

Palestine is a piñata

In the shape a bird;

Hardly recognizable

May be a pigeon?

Is being hit in a frantic party…

Until it is broken

And hundreds of dead children come out of it

If the breeze would not blow them away

Then everyone pick their shares…

When the party is over.

When the party is over?

I must say.......

by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on

that I will see piñatas in a new light.

Yes, Palestine is being pushed and beaten around. The children are the ones who suffer greatly as there world is shattered.

Your feelings were very well expressed.

A very beautiful, sensitive and meaningful poem. Justice, we only want justice.
