Indeed

You don't need to wear a chador to be a chadori.
And I yet have to see even ONE reporter ask someone in the establishment (not even the ayatollah himself) whether they really think this deserves the death penalty or a $100,000 reward for Najafi's head!

Mort Gilani

A Great Artist

I hope Iranian artists compellingly respond to the threat by a MoFo Islamist against the life of this talented artist. Shahin Najafi is the second best Iranian singer after Namjoo and deserves our support.

I hear you Parham and Shifteh

But at the same time the questions gave Shahin Najafi an opportunity to respond very intelligently to the accusations.  Ado shavad sababe kheir.....

I agree,  the interview was more like a religious inquisition with no focus on the grave violation of his Freedom of Speech and the the life threatening Fatwa.

Shifteh Ansari

Spot on Parham

It was shocking to listen to this!  With the type of reactions I have seen of the west-residing "journalists" and "intellectuals" this week, I don't think we should worry too much about the Islamic zealots' access to Shahin Najafi.  Amazing that nobody talks about how degraded Islam has become in the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a state that has used the religion for 33 years of suppression, murders, stoning, torture, inequality, persecution, and prosecution of Iranian citizens inside Iran.  Now west-residing Iranians "demand" to know why Shahin Najafi wrote a poem and whether he is prepared for the "consequences" of writing those words.  Appalling.
