My translation (first draft)

by Nur-i-Azal on

Come once again, O
Saqi, as I am eager to thy service
Desirous to devotion invoking the
blessings of thy fortune

From that place of
thine that brims forth
the brightness of the Cup of Felicity

Ye have gone showing I am in
the darknesses of bewilderment

Even though I am drowning in an
ocean of sin from a hundred directions

From that time I became
acquianted with Love I have been accounted amongst the folk of mercy

Do
not blame me of my libertine ways and bad reputation, O Physician

As
this was the destiny of the accounting-book of my lot

Drink
Wine since Love is neither by acquisition nor by choice

As this gift
reached me from my primordial inheritance

I who throughout my
life have not travelled from my land

In the visitation of your Love I
am desirous to become an exile

Mountain and sea in the Way, and I
am tired and weak

O Khidr, give the aid of good fortune to my
resolve

I am far away in form from the gate of thy Palace
Albeit
with heart and soul I am amongst the dwellers of the Court of thy
presence

Hafiz, thy life shall be entrusted before thine eyes
Within
this, my thought, should my life give me respite!
