I am an IRI agent, groupee, apologist, Sundees-khor, basijjee supporting NIAC in my freetime. Now that this is established, can we talk about the issues?
Guatemala 1953-1954 : ... All manner of disinformation was spread and rumors fomented; dummy parachute drops were made in scattered areas to heighten the belief that a major invasion was taking place.
United Fruit Company's publicity office circulated photographs to journalists of mutilated bodies about to be buried in a mass grave as an example of the atrocities committed by the Arbenz regime. The photos received extensive coverage...In a similar vein, Washington officials reported on political arrests and censorship in Guatemala without reference to the fact that the government was under siege...
This is a piece I recommend every Iranian and particularly the new batch of Iranian chicken hawks to read:
Guatemala 1953-1954 -- While the world watched, excerpted from the book "Killing Hope" by William Blum
//www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Blum/Guatemala_K...
How many of us Iranians actually read history? Or learn from it? And no watching that junk on the History Channel does not count.

Dear MeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan
by sag koochooloo on Sat Dec 19, 2009 07:44 PM PSTWith respect, what makes you think you are a better judge of the situation in Iran than anyone else ? Surely we have free speech here and it is not like IRI where the "wrong" type of news is censored. There is a great mixture of people here posting news, some concentrate on Human Rights, others on external politics and Israel, etc etc. It is a very good mix.
Whether Shifteh or anyone else posts something here, it is still on the internet when you google "IRAN" and "NEWS", so I cannot really see what you aim to achieve by trying to control what people post in IC. We can all look at all the news on the internet and make up our own minds. That is what is great about free speech and democracy.

by MeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan on Thu Dec 10, 2009 11:51 PM PSTWhy? Because of the hyping up of the real situation in Iran.
Don't have the diploma
by Ali P. on Thu Dec 10, 2009 06:31 PM PSTBut I have the High School Equivalency.
Apparently, the author finds Ms. Ansari as a collaborator for the Imperialist power(s). I guess we also need to label JJ as such, because he is the one who picks whose news gets to be featured.
The rest of us, are just puppets :-)
Shifteh jan: Don't pay any
by vildemose on Thu Dec 10, 2009 06:24 PM PSTShifteh jan: Don't pay any attention. This is not 1953. You can't lie that easily with so many communications modes and channels to verify and receive information.
I don't know the author's motives for this blog. Is he suggesting the pictures we've been seeing on you tube or blogs are somehow manufactured by CIA??? Is he suggesting the pictures of protest, sharpshooters, Nedas and sohrabs are all ficitious and a mere figment of imagination of someone in CIA??
This is a very desparate attempt at 'damage control', hallmark of many IRI-trained agent provaceauteurs.

by sag koochooloo on Thu Dec 10, 2009 01:51 PM PSTI always read your News posts and find your blogs very informative. Rest assured that you are respected here by many. Good evening and kind regards.
Dear Sag Koochooloo
by Shifteh Ansari on Thu Dec 10, 2009 01:46 PM PSTThank you for your comments. No, I don't know meybokhor. I'm puzzled about what he/she is talking about, though it is clear that I am being attacked. I honestly don't know anything about the historical incident he/she is quoting and I'm not clear what is meant by attaching it to me. I'll wait for a clarification to see what the attack is all about before I reply.
To answer your concern, personal attacks are common on this site, they are not anything new. I have seen people crucified here! I have also seen people make complete and utter fools of themselves here! Self publishing could be a dangerous tool in the wrong hands! I think the community is aware of this and trolls are usually spotted and users who misbehave either get flagged in their comments or their hateful blogs are not featured. Hiding behind avatars and anonymous ID's gives some people a false sense of security for attacking others. It is a false sense, because whatever the individual's ID is, they have to "live" in this community and decency is a very important prerequisite for all human social behavior. Thanks again.

by sag koochooloo on Thu Dec 10, 2009 01:25 PM PSTI saw the heading which contained your name, read the blog and did not see why it had anything to do with you. But I have noticed in the past couple of weeks there have been many blogs with people directly attacking other people by name. It seems to be the fashion of the moment. .... ofcourse I may have misunderstood this one, perhaps you know each other.
Translation, please
by Shifteh Ansari on Thu Dec 10, 2009 01:10 PM PSTHello! Is this a question for me? Could you please explain what you are talking about? I'm sorry to admit that this blog went right over my head. Please speak at about Diplom level for me to get it. Then I will do my best to answer your question.
Why are so many blogs becoming personal digs at individuals?
by sag koochooloo on Thu Dec 10, 2009 01:02 PM PSTWhat does this have to do with shifteh, why single her out to make your point in a blog?
Any superpower would do
by Cost-of-Progress on Thu Dec 10, 2009 09:51 AM PSTwhatever it takes to maintain status. The Amercians were dead scared of the advance of the Soviets in South America and did what they had to do to prevent it. This went on through the 70's. Similarly, they did what they had to do in the Middle East to secure cheap and abundant supply of oil. None of this is news. Had we (Persians) had the power, we would have done the same to others to maintain supremacy. Is it right, is it just? Hell No - but who decides what's right and what's right?.... Those with power....
What atrocities were comitted by the Brits during their years as a colonial power?
The fact that what was done to Guatemala, Iran and many others is wrong is no remedy to reality.
If we're taken advantage of, it is because that other person/country is smarter than we are in many ways. If we don't like it, we shouldn't allow it. Bitching about it will not make it go away.
Like the man said: "Don't confuse the Issue with facts..."
