The Written Defence of Heshmatollah Tabarzadi

In September 2010, Heshmatollah Tabarzadi’s written defence to the court was published by the Committee of Human Rights Reporters. The defence is a long piece, but worth the read. It really shows how ridiculous the Islamic Republic of Iran is in its actions toward the country and its citizens. The English translation of the defence submitted to the court is found at this link: //persian2english.com/?p=15721

The more rediculous part of all this is that the people allowed such religious institution to take root and gain so much power in Iran so many centuries after Persians were finally able to rid themselves of Arab rule that brought them Islam and forced arabization. This is not meant as an anti Arab/Islam statement which I am often accused of by some, but an unfrotunate piece of truth for those of us Iranians who believe in the separation if Islam and politics IN IRAN.
