Regime-Controlled Press TV Recognizes Journalist Day...What a Joke!

Today, the Iranian state-run media Press TV had the audacity to recognize Journalist Day. The Iranian regime, which has turned Iran into a country with the largest number of imprisoned journalists in the world, recognized Journalist Day today. The most dishonest and manipulative regime in the world recognized Journalist Day today.

What a joke!

Saman Kojouri from Press TV, the Iranian regime's "objective" TV station, cites statistics from Reporters Without Borders (RSF) that state hundreds of journalists are killed worldwide on duty (//www.presstv.ir/detail/192917.html).

According to Press TV, RSF is considered an "official source".

Here is an official quote from RSF:

"Iran has become the Middle East’s biggest and among the five biggest prisons in the world for journalists."

Why doesn't the "objective" Press TV cover the truth that is closer to home?

Perhaps Press TV should pay a visit to the RSF site to see what RSF thinks about the Islamic Republic of Iran's track record on its treatment of journalists:

//en.rsf.org/iran.html
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, out of all the countries in the world, Iran and China currently have the most imprisoned journalists: //cpj.org/reports/2010/12/cpj-journalist-prison-census-iran-china-highest-14-years.php

The Iranian regime really needs to focus on domestic issues for once rather than cite global statistics. The Iranian regime should first clean the disgusting mess in its own backyard before it cries for other nations!

Here is another link from RSF on Iranian journalists and bloggers:

Here is a quote from RSF on Iran:

“The human rights situation in Iran keeps on deteriorating,” Reporters Without Borders said. “We continue to see suspicious deaths of detainees and activists and mistreatment in various prisons, especially Evin and Raja’i Shahr. Prisoners of conscience are in constant danger, as the families of many detainees said in a letter to the special rapporteur. //en.rsf.org/iran-regime-rejects-un-rapporteur-visit-05-07-2011,40584.html
