I read the sad news about the young Kurdish girl Jian from the link you posted. This could  happen in any societies with any cultures. It is about a sickness of an individual like Jian's step father which we really don't know what was the real story behind this horrible tragedy. 

As an Iranian Kurdish woman, I believe treatment of women in all middle east should be improved.

However I also think that these days, Kurdish women in  Kurdistan Region (North of Iraq) are  experiencing more freedom than us in Iran.

pedro jan , don't romanticize any one people. Everyone has their problems.

Kurdish women are having a very hard time, and though it's not as not bad as Iran with Gender-Aparthied, the treatment of women in Kurdistan, all over from  Iraq, Turkey, Iran,... needs to be drastically improved.

Something about Kurdish.

Something about Kurdish people and their songs,  Is it the way of life, the hardship, pure and simple living with brutal honesty that made me gravitate toward them? I never found out. I had some Kurdish friends and I listen to Kurdish a lot when I was in Iran. I sang them too although most time didn't know the meaning. Looking forward to hear songs from Honi, Dashni, Choopi and Leila Farighi here on IC. Thanks.

Yes she has a strong warm voice, However she sings in Kurdish and lives in Kurdistan Region (North of Iraq) so I don't know she is going to sing another Farsi song or not.
