In response to 'veiled phrophet' .. I was initiated at the age of 17, that was pre '79 in Iran. It wasn't so difficult for me as I married into a zartoshte family  and this was expected at that time, albeit somewhat rare I understand.  I went through a process of several meetings and some lessons and that was that!

I really didnt understand so much then ... and coming from the UK, I didnt speak much farsi, let alone zartoshte. And now although I dont participate much in any formal way, I try to live my life according to what I have learnt. It has helped me through many decisions great and small in my life and I am happy that I had the principles of zartoshte to guide me. Like all faith/religion, it is a personal experience and a way of living ones life.

I dont think it is so hard to convert now... and I believe it is easily possible in the west. I wish you well and beleive you will find what you seek

This is a beautiful video. I truly believe that Iranian Moslems are better off converting to Zarthoshti. There are however several problems.

1) In Iran the mullahs will execute anyone who leaves Islam.

2) In India there are some right wing Parsis who absolutely reject conversion.

So it is a bit of an uphill battle. But we are not alone. There are people all over including Iranians, Tajiks and Kurds who are rediscovering their Zarthoshti origin. One big question is: How to be initiated? I know of one organization, "Bozorg Bazgasht" see //www.bozorgbazgasht.com/ . I would very much appreciate responses from people who have converted as to how they went about it, please let us know.

Iran will never be whole without the Zarthoshti spirit. Islam was forced on us and we need to reject it. Look at how other nations such as Greece and Spain dealt with Islamic invasion. They don't go around worshipping Imams or Mullahs and neither should we. Fortunately the door to conversion is open in the West. We aught to take advantage of this and reclaim our heritage of Cyrus and Yazdgird.

Let me coorect you as your ignorant comments have no basis and you are just trying to discredit with untruthful comments. But most of all coming down to your level is sign of evil at the same time.

We as zoroasterian don't mix politics/government with religion. Our prayers and way of life is private and sacred to us behind the close doors and we practice daily with goodthoughts, goodwords, and gooddeeds.
When arabs took over the country the wealthy zoroasterain went to India and git establishe there. Sir it has nothing to do with any government or political matters. We are much respected there mostly because of our beliefs and staying out of trouble.
Also all the words you hear in this song are completely Dari (our language). Are an expert in farsi literature?

The final solution is giving back what Arabs 1400 years ago have given to us with genocide and atrocities and revive our ancient religion(Zoroastrianism) which is also a part of our national identity. Long live Iran(Persia), long live Zartoshtra.

ARABIC WORDS - ARE YOU JOKING

ARE YOU JOKING ABOUT NO ARABIC WORDS AND PARSI LANGUAGE?

1) That song is filled with ARABIC words. For example, "Mobarak" comes from Arabic (root BARAKA). They kept saying the word "DONYA" which is arabic. They keep referring to their religion as "Dine Behi". Dine is also Arabic meaning "way of life".

2) The reason Zartushtis (Parsees) were influential in India, was because the British installed them as puppets over Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims in India (because they were the only small minority they could control). Therefore they were in the administration, etc. It had nothing to do with their religion, it was just a fate of history that they were used as a pawn of the British and they accepted that role.

3) How are they using Parsi alphabet? Thats the LATIN alphabet. ARe you that westernized and have that much of an inferiority complex? If you truly wanted to be a "pure Iranian", you would end up looking more like an akhund than a westerner. You would either have to wear a kufi on your head (the big yamaka that Muslims and Zartushtis wear), or you would have to wear a turban on your head like the akhunds (like Zartusht had on his head).

So stop thinking pure Iranian is any different, it is actually closer to the Islamic look, than the WEstern look that you fancy.

I converted into Zoroasterianism when I got out of Iran. I always hated to be a muslim because I was an Iranian of persian descent like many other Iranians with a great culture and history. We Iranians were coerced into Islam and even today we are forced to be Muslims. Islam is a tool in hand of Arabs and Turk in Iran to occupy our dear country.

 I believe there are Zoroastrian associations in USA but I don't live in USA but I am sure they can be searched through Google. My main contact with them was when I was in India, I saw many of them who are called Parsees . They left Iran after the invasion of Islam and took refuge in India , they are one of the most respected communities in India and have many prominent businessmen. You see names like Ardeshir, Jahangir, Farhang , etc in India which makes us proud of our Iranian heritage. that time they wouldn't accept any converts but now I believe they do as their number was dwindling due to that fact.

I have two sweet cousins that have converted to zoroasterain back in Iran and they are supported by their family and relatives. Funny as hell considering their grandfather is a mullah!!! No one outside our family knows because they can be executed in Iran.

Would it not be so sad to see this ancient religion disappearing? I suggest we form a foundation and all contribute funds for the survival of historical buildings related to this truly wonderful Persian religion. It is part of our heritage.

The only king (in the entire world) whose name has appeared with much respect in a holly book is the Zoroastrian king, Cyrus the great. Book of Ezra mentions his name with much respect.

Let us do something useful and form a foundation where funds are collected to refurbish and maintain the old Zoroastrian buildings in Iran. This will help Iran in every way you can imagine, even economically, cause it brings more tourists to Iran too.

I, on my side am happy to start with $1000. We need someone to form the foundation.
