although the veggies look awesome in the shot at least... i would have taken the pastas to go for breakfast. And the crostini looks bland (not enough garlic, no basil whatsoever & not enough olive oil).

So remember JJ, when they recognize a tourist, price immediately changes in front of your eyes. I've had really good food in Lucca, Siena and Firenze.

Italian food is delish but expensive & petite size

Compared to American food.  Wine sometimes is cheaper and better and they won't serve you tap water, only bottled water so they can charge you and they charge the tip as well which is actually good, but you have to remember not to double tip.  They give you a cat food size dish and charge you 20 euro!  Although here JJJ had it all; the appetizer, salad, entre AND the pasta so he couldn't finish it!

They say to stay away from eatries at the tourist attractions where a lot of tourists go because they'll give you frozen pizza and other fast food disguised as "gourmet".  This is especially true in and around at Vatican (our own Hazrat Masoumeh cousin's zarih ;-).  The farther and inland the eatery the better the food.  Also, the eateries who give coupons (like this one ;-) no good!  When they give you discount they again give you the left overs!

AO Olive Garden is actually good.  I didn't like it early on but over the years I've come to like it.  All you can eat salad and the entre, you'll really get full.

I just lost my blog, so I make a comment out of my blog :)

I can't believe it. I wrote a whole blog in support of one long time IC contributor who has been treated unfairly in the past few hours on IC and then as I was trying to make edit in it, poof, it was gone. Any way, I summarize here. We need our outspoken iranian ladies online. Some might call them names. But we need real Iranian ladies online who are knowledgeable and not afraid to debate guys online. So if there is an IC writer who fits this profile, this writer as a whole has a positive effect because most women reading IC are going to  be impressed that a lady has such a prominent voice on IC and can debate guys and not just write slice of life stories but actually debate literature and politics.

There really is something very sick about appearances in Iranian culture.

Never seen anything like it. Amazing thing is that the  men , in my experience, seem to be by far more rational and reasonable than the women.Perhaps they really like to be lazy in the kitchen and command the entire household....

The difference between you and some is that you wear your heart on your sleeve - say exactly what you mean, an honest perhaps naive person. The fact that you use the F word will get your comment deleted and/or you'll get blocked . Yet others, without use of profanity, in an underhanded way manage to stay on IC, throw abuse at people (which is acceptable as part of our Irania culture it seems), call them mentally disturbed, make threats to people and get away with murder. You, I and AntiMozakhraf are on the watch list. Now please lets leave this blog.

Whether I'm right or wrong, which as you know really isn't the issue with  me,they act as a gang and prohibit dialogue. Pathetic. Primitive.

Another observation - why is it that certain ladies on this site who are clearly friends on the outside refrain from commeting when others are being bullied on the site (if they are so moral) , but only show up defending their own clique?

An observation about this unfortunate thread

From what I read here, it’s clear that the one acting like a bully on this thread is Dirty, having lost her Angel side for no logical reason...while Souri has kept her cool with grace.

So, I second whoever flagged Dirty's comments on this thread and I hope JJ would delete these personal attacks on one of the kindest (and wittiest) members of this site.

Couldn't agree more about speaking up against injustices. But what I have learned, especially with regard to IC, is to ask myself this: Who is it that I would be voicing my objection to? Time and time again the answer proves to be 'not someone who has ever displayed an ounce of what it takes to get it'. So why waste your time Angel jan? The same people here pull each other's hair out one day and the next day they are kissing each other's behinds...and all with no discussion, no reaching an understanding, no reason. Their friendship is as hollow as their enmity...it all rises from a hollow soul... and the fix for that my friend, is beyond both our capabilities ( and desires I dare say!)

Just been weeks and months  on end of this, and totally unfair, just sheer bullying.
