Apology: Military ads

A while back I made a public commitment here not to run military-related ads on iranian.com.

A couple of days ago I saw ads from the U.S. military to recruit Persian speakers and translators. I initially thought they were coming from google. Anyone can go to google AdSense and pay for their ad to show up on sites like iranian.com. We can block the ones we don't approve and have no commitment to run them. And we have done so in the past with CIA recruitment ads, Israeli military ads, pornography, certain Islamic sites...

The latest ads are different. They have already paid us directly. I had forgotten to mention to our advertising manager to refuse these sorts of ads. When I learned about the U.S. military ad, I asked that they be removed and refunded.

However, iranian.com is going through a major reorganization and we are unable to make a refund. The ads will be back up until mid-January as scheduled.

iranian.com's current investors are selling their shares and from next month I will be working with new partners. The deal has been in the works for several months. I will give you more details soon.

I apologize for this mistake. I will continue to do my best to keep iranian.com free of military-related ads.

As for the once again desperate Quixote, what's wrong, have you run out of arguments and got frustrated again? Since you have no inkling of fairness whatsoever, let me help you with some hints.

Self righteousness?  For that you can go many places in your world, start with

Amr beh maaroof va nahy az monkar

This is a fundamental pillar of the Islamic system you stand for.  Talk about "taklif roshan kardan" and dictating to others.

For "khayeh malee", seems like your khayeh malee meter stopped when it came to

"Roohe manee Khomeini, Bothshekani Khomeini" and "Janam fadaye rahbar" and "Marg bar zede velayate faghih", or Palestinian "leaders" kissing up to the usurper of Iran:

//newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41709000/jpg...

Or once again, is it ok for islamists and "revolutionaries"  to exhibit this behavior and no one else?  Talk about hypocrisy.  But don't worry, by now such hypocrisy is completely expected from you and normal as the sun rising and setting every day.  Oh wait, that must make me an AIPAC stooge.  Or maybe even a mohareb?

Like I said earlier, I love it when you guys display your "logic":)

I obviously hit a nerve with Fair. How is that for "logic"?

I havne't seen such shameless, nonsequitor BS spinning since Shah tried to make people believe Khomeini was Indian.

Stop using "Demonization" technique to demonize others who don't think like you. This is called Cyber bullying. It will damage your cause at the end.

As for your closeness to FredCo's politics I copied and pasted what you had written in his praise. Here it is again:

It's titled: 'A Note of Gratitude to Fred' and you write "I regard Fred as one of the most valuable contributors to this site. "

This is the same FredCo that produces 2 blogs a day on this website in support of Israel and pushes for the starvation and destruction of iranian civil sociey through sanctions.

Don't you have no shame?

Don't lecture me about what sanctions are and what they're supposed to do. I observed what sanctions did to Iraqi children and how it destroyed their health. Did it bring down Saddam?

Look, you and your organization lost in the last round while Mousavi and Karrobi are both alive and well and politically active, eat your heart out. Lick your wounds, sit down and analyze the reasons why no body pays attentions to you or your organization. Instead of name calling and demonizing.

Masoud Jan you are very kind, thank you.  The real thanks are destined for those who never made it home, or took a long time to make it home, and their families.  And the NO thanks are due to the traitor anti Iran Khomeini who opened our country to attack, just like his anti Iranian followers today are as well.  These people have no country.

And for JJ, thank you for being professional and honest and sharing your intentions.  You don't need to apologize for anything, you do Iranians worldwide a great service by keeping this website, and you don't need to explain yourself to anybody.  I understand that allowing people from different camps is totally different than getting monetary support from one group or another in the form of ads or otherwise.  I respect and appreciate your neutrality and commitment to free speech, even for those who advocate its suppression.

As for the once again desperate Quixote, what's wrong, have you run out of arguments and got frustrated again? Since you have no inkling of fairness whatsoever, let me help you with some hints.

Masoud Kazemzadeh

Thank You Friends Fair, Roozbeh, GR, and VPK

by Masoud Kazemzadeh on

My dear friend Fair,

First and foremost, thank YOU sooooooooooo very much for your defending of our land against Iraq. We are most grateful to you. You are a true patriot, a true Iranian.

Second, thank you so much for your activities on this site against the supporters of the fascist fundamentalist regime that have been brutalizing and terrorizing the Iranian people.

Finally, I am honored to have your support. Ye donya mamnoon.

Ba sepaas-e faravan,

Masoud

P.S. Please call me "Masoud."

========================================

Roozbeh jaan,

The terrorists are upset because I exposed them and their dirty activities. Thank YOU for your activities against the fascist fundamentalist terrorist regime supporters.

Ti jana ghorban,

Masoud

===========================================

Rahmanian jaan,

I think it is necessary task to expose those who support the fundamentalist regime. It should help reduce the possibility of good people becoming "useful idiots" and used by the fundamentalist regime agents.

Best,

MK

=====================================

VPK jaan,

You are a most decent and honest person. I agree with much of what you say, and disagree with a few. Sanctions on pistachio and carpet is not very effective. But sanctions on crude oil and natural gas would be very very effective in undermining the terrorist regime. ALL the money from oil and gas goes DIRECTLY into the hands of Khamenei and Ahmadinejad. They use it to oppress the people and keep themselves in power. It is perfectly fine for some to disagree with sanctions. It depends on what one thinks about the fundamentalists. If I have some time, I will try to write a blog on sanctions.

Best,

Masoud

=========================================

Mollah,

Heeeeee, a non-violent liberal democrat exposing the activities of a hard-line terrorist fundamentalist Hezbollahi for the benefit of the terrorist regime, is now called "cyber bullying." Priceless.

This sounds like a great description

of the Islamic republic's judiciary, who imprisons, tortures, rapes, and executes thousands without trial or representation-  then says they are the freest country in the world.  And all of this- the guilt of their victims, the freedoms that they offer, and the validity of their "elections" are all correct, why?  Because they say so, they are representatives of Allah on Earth.  Believe them.

They asked the fox: "who's your witness?"

But Of Course!

by G. Rahmanian on

But of course! Since we live in the free world we need to, at least, pretend that we are democratic and this is what free speech is about. Let's even pretend we are at a forum at the UN. What harm can our fantasies cause? After all they are only fantasies. Now, I have seen the worst insults on this site by a bunch of desperate supporters of IR--open and closet types--which are deemed as harmless comments, blogs or articles. There are loonies who openly defend the massacres and the most brutal acts perpetrated by IR in the past three decades, and their writings are treated as non-abusive views. Perhaps, some sort of a course in what constitues insult or abuse is in order. But, no matter what, to some having the cake/pie and eating it, too, opportunistic traits, seem to come only naturally. We never know what will happen tomorrow, so such chameleon-like characteristics may prove convenient or even lucrative.

Fair

Dr Kazemzadeh

by Fair on

Wow.  As Roozbeh said, you have obviously hit a nerve here, calling a duck a duck.

I love it when people who support a system whose leader can dictate to every individual in a country what to eat, drink, wear, think, believe, breathe, and how to go to the bathroom, accuse people like Dr. Kazemzadeh of taklif roshan kardan.  Just another raw display of islamist hypocrisy, and desperation when standing up for what is by now clear to planet earth as a failed form of government and a revolution which has fallen flat on its face and is in bankruptcy.

I also love it when a stateless terrorist who cannot even relate at the most basic level to an average Iranian comes here and decrees that all Iranians abroad are irrelevant to Iran, that they should leave their motherland alone, because they did not have the "fortitude" to stay in their country.  I guess Captain Yadi Sharifirad is "irrelevant" to Iran because this loser fake major says he did not have the "fortitude" to stay in Iran and get tortured and executed more.  While this chicken "major" sits in the luxury of the USA riding his motorcycle, bashing the USA, and promoting the rapist regime occupying Iran and selling out the people of Iran. He doesn't realize that just because he doesn't have a country and gives not one damn about the Iranian people, actual Iranians might feel differently.

I also love when delusionary camels like Molla come here and whine about the "cyber bullying" of a man like Dr. Kazemzadeh, saying a bunch of crap like "Iran is surrounded by sharks" to justify the oppression and rape of Iranian citizens on a daily basis.  I have news for you - Iranian is not surrounded by sharks- IT IS OCCUPIED BY SHARKS.  The only danger that Iran faces from the external world today is invited by the government occupying Iran.  This is not the 1970's when the Soviet army to the north and the Arab armies to the west were actively threatening to take Iranian territory.  So it is YOU you need to learn about the geopolitics of the region, not Dr. Kazemzadeh.

Dr Kazemzadeh, it is said that you can learn a lot about a person by the company they keep.  You can also learn a lot about that person by the opponents they have.  I would say with pathetic "opponents" like this- people who either have no country, put an ideology before the Iranian people, and support a bankrupt idea in year 2010, you are to be held in high esteem:)

For you pathetic Islamists out there and your countryless groupies, hear this.  The Iranian people have spoken, and done so loud and clear.  In case you are deaf (evidently you are) I will remind what they have said with their voices, their blood, their pens, and their hearts:

IRANI MEEMIRAD

ZELLAT NEMIPAZIRAD

MARG BAR DIKTATOR

Now if you think that by making Iran into the world's largest prison for reporters and free thinkers, that by shutting down every publication that you cannot answer, that by blocking every website that does not follow your rapist leader, that by arresting, imprisoning, torturing, raping,  and executing Iranian citizens without trial, that these voices will shut up and go away, it is for one reason and one reason alone:

You are a bunch of idiots.

You are living in the same delusion that "His Imperial Majesty, the King of Kings, Light of the Aryans" lived in.  Except your title is "His Excellency Esteemed Supreme Leader of the World's Muslims, Guardian Jurisprudent Grand Ayatollah".  And you and your basiji terrorists are willing to go much further in committing murder rape and other crimes against the Iranian people than Savak and the Imperial Iranian Army or the Shah ever was.  People like Khatami, Karroubi, Mousavi have realized this and you haven't.  Your supporters are riding motorcycles in Tehran and California, advocating war on unarmed peaceful Iranians, and "demonizing" by calling them seditionists.

Iran will prevail over you and outlast you, just as it has every other stateless terrorist in our history.  You will be thrown in your rightful place- the dustbin of history.

Thank you Dr Kazemzadeh for exposing once again the true nature of these enemies of Iran, and the most anti democratic and anti Iranian force in our modern history.

I showed and and proved who you admire most on this website by your own words:

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Points taken. I would not minimize the power of people with nothing to lose. Total poverty led to the French revolution. The difference is that when people do it; they really take it out on the rules. I would not be surprised if AN and Khamenei are literally drawn and quartered by angry people.

Fear only works when you have something to lose. If your kids are starving as you watch you have nothing to lose. All you have is anger and hate. The gas prices will impact all people. The poor also rely on gas bus; taxi; transportation of goods all of these will go up in price. Life will basically suck much more.

The problem as you identified is leadership. The West is desperately trying to find one. Rajavi is taking advantage of this but is not a viable option. RP is more viable but still lacks a proper base. Who becomes the leader and how?  Very possibly we will see the emergence of a new leader. Based outside of Iran. Why outside: because that is the way to get around IR. This leader will in time develop networks in Iran. At least that is what the West is hoping for and planning.

VPK

G. Rahmanian

VPK:

by G. Rahmanian on

I was just being sarcastic about the comparison. This is what Ahmadinejad's supporters are saying. With or without sanctions poverty is rampant. There are still Iranians who help their relatives. But with Ahmadinejad's policy of giving all the economic power to "Sepah" and "Basij" such people will not be able to help their poor relatives for long. He knows by creating more poverty it will be easier to control people. Poor, hungry people do not necessarily rise against tyranny in well-organized manners. And the scope of their protests is constrained by their inability to see beyond their immediate demands such as procuring the proverbial "bread and butter" or "bread and onion," as Iranians would say. As Mr. Reis Daana pointed out in his revealing attack on the government's economic  policies, 35% of Iran's urban population lives under poverty line. He did not give a figure for the rest of Iran. He also correctly stated that by cutting the subsidies the government is trying to consolidate its grip on power, even more, and save itself from the current economic meltdown. This policy of keeping people hungry in order to exploit them in times of need is nothing new under IR. Not only the economic policies of the regime, but also its crackdown on the mass media and creating an apartheid-like system with regards to education and employment are all aimed at stamping out any form of opposition to its autocratic rule. The regime is aware that by forcing more people to fall under poverty line and "destroying the middle class" it has a chance to survive uprisings similar to the ones we witnessed last year. Middle class or wealthy Iranians would not allow their children to join the Revolutionary or Basij Corps. It is the needy, as Mr. Reis Daana also stated, that bends under the pressure from economic and financial  hardships and allows further abuse by those in power. Of course, the regime cannot absorb all the poor and the needy,  because it simply cannot afford a forty-million strong Basij and Revolutionary Corps. And, it goes without saying that, not all those in the uniform agree with the regime. Those who burned down gas stations during the riots to protest the rationing of gasoline were people who owned cars and not those living under poverty line who can hardly afford buying cars. Add to such machinations by the state the lack of a coherent leadership which could lead people when they rise in protest against the social, political and economic atrocities of the state.

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

G, Rahmanian

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

You see, some European countries and the US see Ahmadinejad as another Mosadegh, so they want to bring his government down.

Well I am sure Mossadegh is rolling in his grave right now!! I want this government to go as well but do it right. Banning these items is ineffective. The money is from oil not rugs. Is the world ready to do without Iranian oil? If so they will bring down IR in a few months. If not they could stop the importation of refined gasoline. That will hurt real bad also. Or they could go all the way and invade.

This is like bailing out a boat with a tea spoon. It is a waste of time. I hate half arsed things. If you want to do something either do it right or don't bother. The whole thing is half baked and is slowly killing the people. I do not support it.

G. Rahmanian

VPK:

by G. Rahmanian on

Right or wrong this is only a tiny economic push. It's rather a psychological game. 1. This is not the first time for such bans! 2. Exports mean more dollars going to Iran. 3. It hurts merchants who ordinarily don't pay much attention to the political scene under IR as long as they can sell their rugs or pistachios. 4. With IR banks under sanctions things are tough already for the dealers outside of Iran, anyway. 5. The fear of money getting laundered. 6. Psychological effects on those involved in production and export of such items. There could be other reasons. With tens of millions of Iranians already under poverty line, such sanctions will certainly hurt many ordinary people as well. Oh, I almost forgot. You see, some European countries and the US see Ahmadinejad as another Mosadegh, so they want to bring his government down.
