What you don't want to hear

There are those who are seeing the ongoing events in Iran as the embodiment of the wishes for respecting civil liberties, Godspeed to them all with a word of caution. Should by an outside chance their wish not become reality, they are setting themselves up for a kind of apathy to make the one after Khatami euphoria look like  a trip on ecstasy.

And that is bad; it is bad not only for those individuals more importantly for Iran’s struggle to achieve freedom.  Iran needs concerned and dedicated people just like them to not succumb to a potential political apathy at least till She is emancipated.

After three decades of dashing Iran’s hopes and aspirations by the ruling Islamist chameleons, prudence dictates the investment of hope is tempered by reserving some should things not turn out as so wished for.

You don't need to defend Fred from me and my "words". He is known for defending himself - with tougher words than you can imagine.

Fred, my sour old friend

This is not a time for prudence. This is a mass uprising. Stop being being the stinkbomb at the party all the time!

All bets are off. Who knows, maybe you will be the king of Iran next month. No one knows what can happen. You once said that you were a general brigade commander in the Imperial Army. Time to put that experience to use!

So Fred, can you manage it for a while? Less sulfur, more Hugo Boss. Hugs for you, my old enemy and now my friend! These are times of change.

You told us Obama would be bad for Iran, but look what has happened. He has inspired people in Iran to stand up and fight. If we had voted for that leftover crap stew McCain/Palin, Iranians would still be sitting around watching Voice of America and just cursing IRI under their breath. I hope you will admit that even though you don't wanna hear it, Iranians fared better under Obama.
