I got a kick out of the young Iranian rockers and hipsters on those facebook pages.

I still find it amazing that some rockers can still jam out to a genre that's now over 30 years old. I was older than some of these kids when the music cited on their "likes" section was brand new! 

Can you imagine when we were 21 listening to music from 30 years ago? Lemme tell you exiles who don't know any better, that would have been unthinkable.

Heavy metal is passe. It hasn't evolved since the early-mid eighties. (Consider Metallica's more recent reliance on cover tunes).

Iranian youth would be better steered toward big beat electronic dance, such as this number from The Chemical Brothers (check out the opening Perso-Arabic riffs):
