The way you talked about it made me think of the good old days, the days of Baghali polo va Aash reshte, dareke, darband va shokofehiy gilas, the days of balal va kabab. Thank you for sending me to those days. Thank you for your kind words, but here park benches and tables instead patos, BBQ and hot dogs are replacing Baghali polo and Aash and I am trying to blend the two and encourage our children to keep at least some part of our traditions. I think by trying to keep every thing that we had we are taking the chance of losing it all. merci Faramarz jon I truly appreciate your comment and hope to hear from you again.

Dear Mr. KShar,
Although I truly appreciate your cooking tips and your sense of style, Sizdah Bedar is all about taking the Baghali Polo and Aash Reshteh to the nature; a green place near a river, eat, sing and dance. Therefore, my first advice to every Sizdah Bedari is to wrap your Aash and Polo pots tightly in a blanket to keep them warm until the late afternoon. Especially, the second serving of Aash Reshteh around 6 PM is great.
Secondly, don’t take flowers to your Sizdah! You are supposed to take your 7-Sin Sabzi and at the end of the day throw it in the river.
Happy 13-Bedar Everyone!
