من تو ایران یه دوست داشتم ظاهرا" خیلی‌ اهل مطالعه، ولی‌ یه عیب کوچیک داشت، هر جا راجع به هر چی‌ صحبت میشد این آقا بدون توجه به  حضار شروع میکرد به تزریق افاضات....

یکبار یه نفر از دهانش پرید که.....این خسرو خان چقدر شبیه به پدر مرحومش هست،, صرف نظر از قیافه و هیکل ,عین باباش همیشه دست چپش تو جیبشه ....

دوست ما شروع کرد........

از نظر ژنتیکی‌ وقتی‌ اسپرم با اوول ترکیب میشه و تشکیل یک ژن رو میدن اون ژن شامل کلی‌ خصوصیات هست، اگر اون ژن رو از وسط دو نیم کنیم نصف سمت چپ شامل ظواهر هست، بخش‌هایی‌ از اون مربوط می‌شه به چیز‌هایی‌ مثل قد، رنگ مو، رنگ چشم و........رفت و رفت...................................

اما اون یکی‌ نصف به دو قسمت بالایی و پایینی تقسیم میشه که قسمت بالایی شامل خصوصیات رفتاری هست مثل همین دست چپ تو جیب کردن و............

مادر بزرگ من یه دفه از کوره در رفت و گفت.....ماشالله آقا !!....یه کلمه میگفتی‌ تره به تخمش میره ابولی به باباش و قال قضیه رو میکندی !

BN-e aziz, instead of such fruitless philosophical ponderings, take the hand of that nice woman, tell her some mumbo-jombo story of how impressed you are with her signs and genes, and slowly but surely walk her towards the golden gates of San Francisco!

Pedaram, be ma cheh keh az kareh khoda sar dar biarim? Just be a man and do what we do best!

I have noticed too that aside from genes and environment, there are specific characteristics shared by individuals under the same astrological sign. Power of suggestion is interesting to consider as well. (If I know anything about a sign then I can see some of those characteristics in a person.)

So in other words: Please let me know when you find out!

People deserve what they get

Astrology is absolutely a scientifid fact. No doubt about it.
So are these scientific facts:

Moses parted the sea
Jesus' mother was a virgin at the time of his birth
Mohammad went under a blanket and a revelation was delivered to him
Hazrat'e Mehdi disappeared a few years ago but he will return pretty soon
Kennedy's assassination was a hoax
Man never walked of the moon
Big Foot lives in the woods
Khomeini's face appeared on the Moon
Ahmadinejad saw a halo in the UN

There is so MUCH that we do

There is so MUCH that we do NOT KNOW and cannot at this time find answers to...
In 30-40 years time "we" -- the ones who think we know more than the average person today -- will be looked upon as the ignorants (bi sho'oor)of those days in the future!
There is SOOOOO much we do not know!
What we know today is like kiddie stuff!

so skeptical and rigid!  Could it be that there are phenomenons in the universe that are not known to us yet? it's not like humans have figured it all out already. I am saying there is a possibility and it's based on observation not suggestions. 

Read the characteristics of each sign, compare it to people you know and see for yourself. Be as skeptical as you want to be while doing this and you will see some truth in it (as much as you want to deny it)

it's always easier to dismiss the unknown.

you and khar are both very smart people. I am beginning to think you are very right. i think we specially agree with all the positive points about our selves and all the positives and negatives about every one else. how convenient ;-)

 I, too, think much of it is the power of suggestion. You and I hear people say, and believe, individuals share the same characteristics based on :

Where they were born ( Esfahani's are this, or Azebaijani's are that),

their professions( "typical baazaari" or "truck driver type"),

or how much money they have (" az oon kharpool haa" or "az iin gedaa-goodeh haa") .

 I never met someone I didn't have anything in common with.

i have thought of that and i think you may be right as we bend what we want to hear to suite us. but coincidences are to creepy.

i agree with you about the least logical part. and i also agree with you that it is so creepy to see that generally people born under the same sign have many distinct characteristics shared. yani for those many characteristics time of birth does trump the genes.

of all the factors that determine who we are, the time of birth is the least logical one. But I have to admit, I have seen so many distinct characteristics shared by the people of the same sign that I am a believer.

maybe there is really a significance in the way the stars and the earth align that we have not figured out how to explain in a way that makes sense to us at the level of science and technology currently known to us ...

you are very nice to say this. but have you any idea why people under the same sign have very similar characteristics even though their genes are different? this is the part i do not underestand.
