I like the cartoon's depictions of the characters involved!
by Anonymouse on Fri Nov 20, 2009 06:59 AM PSTGood cartoon/drawing!
Everything is sacred.

Thank you, Azadeh jan!

by yolanda on Fri Nov 20, 2009 06:18 AM PSTThank you for the link, the lady talked about Gaza(ns) twice in her speech, did not mention Iranian women at all ....... she gave Gazans the priority......I recall a couple of weeks ago, a shipload of arms was intercepted on its way to Hezbollahs (?).....I am not sure IRI spends so much $$$ on Hezbollahs because of Islamic compassion, or spreading its ideology, or developing its sphere of influence.....anyway, it is super sad to see Iranian women selling their bodies on the street...I was wondering if IRI can stop shipping the arms to Hezbollas and try to help the poor women more, so they don' have to sell their bodies.....thank you for your very poignant and sobering cartoon!

One suggestion: *she* "chose" Rome for the forum of wives and her speech, not the FAO - an idea that transpires from your link, the IRNA report in Persian.
Azadeh
Here is some more information abou it

by Azadeh Azad on Thu Nov 19, 2009 09:47 PM PSTThank you for the compliment, and for supporting the first female president of future free Iran.
I'll vote for Simin Behbahani as the first President. Like Vaclav Havel, she is both a poet and a political activist. I can't think of anyone better than her.

This is the wife?
by pedro on Thu Nov 19, 2009 03:27 PM PSTI wish I'd never seen her ugly (I can't call it face, we can't see any face, only glasses). She needs to get a taste of the baton for a change.
who knows, maybe she does!! LOL
Thank you, MPD
by Azadeh Azad on Thu Nov 19, 2009 03:10 PM PSTI don't have a full account either. The cartoon is based on a report by the Associated Press, published on the following MSNBC website.

Yolanda,
My pleasure. Yes, it's tragic! When you are HUNGRY, you do anything to survive - with or without "Islamic teachings."

by Multiple Personality Disorder on Thu Nov 19, 2009 02:36 PM PSTIf you have a full account of what she said I'd like to know what it is. I'd like to wirte a satire about it. Thanks.
Your painting/cartoon is great.
Thats not all that she said
by OmidKarimi on Thu Nov 19, 2009 01:09 PM PSTShe proudly defended the rights of Palestinian women being beaten by Israelis. Remember, Iranian women are second class human beings, they dont need human or equal rights, and their beatings are justified or/and non existant.
Kesafat, her very face digust's me. She looks more like the Saudi Arabias first lady than Iran. What sad sad sad days our country has seen..

Thank you for your cartoon, it makes me sad! It is soooo sad! I watched a you-tube documentary about the working girls in Iran. It was shocking! The sigeh deal is shocking, too!
thanks,
