Dominique Gaston André Strauss-Kahn, often referred to in the media as DSK, is a 61 year-old French economist, lawyer, politician and a member of the Socialist Party of France (PS). Strauss-Kahn became the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2007, with the backing of his country's president, Nicholas Sarkozy, and served in that role until his resignation on May 18, 2011.

In May 2011, Strauss-Kahn was arrested in New York City and charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, and attempted rape of a maid who was cleaning his hotel room. He was refused bail and remanded to jail, with his next court appearance scheduled for 20 May.

Political suicide

by Azadeh Azad on

Orang jan: I will go for his unconsciousness. He has been whining about his "sex obsession" and "Jewishness" as factors of his possible downfall for several years.

When the maid came in, he was naked and preparing to go to the airport. He didn't have time to pay for a call-girl, so he thought well, a maid would do!

Faramarz jan: unfortunately we cannot access Jon Stewart's videos from Canada.

Cheers,

Azadeh

Orang Gholikhani

A Nuke Bombe in France

by Orang Gholikhani on

Your picture is amazing and of course all your discussion is focused on IMF and posts are soft but he was more than this in France and passions are exacerbated here!

DSK was going to announce his candidacy for Next year French Presidency at the end of June ! and he has been annonced winner against Sarkozy in all surveys. Ofcourse now he is completly out.

Everybody is confused here ! He has always been known a "sex interested" guy with his co-workers (like clinton) but nobody imagine him attacking an unknown woman like that in his hotel room. he is very rich and could pay for having sex if he was on hurry !

Here, it is like a Nuke Bombe explosion. There are endless discussions on Medias and everywhere. Because of election, people speaks about 2 possible options :

1: Plot Theory : DSK is not guilty and it has been a trap.

2: Political suicide : his unconsciuseness made him do that for avoiding presidential election.

strange story, even TV shows like law & order couldn't imagine such story !

To be continued

Interesting article

by Azadeh Azad on

Thanks, Souri Jan. The man is obviously suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder. His power and sense of entitlement allowed him to live fully as two separate individuals. He was aware that his personality disorder would cost him one day. Unfortunately, he did not seek professional hekp and his wife was/is an enabler!

He is certainly a brilliant man and a very good economist. I like this part of the article:

"The Europeans told him 'you don't understand our economies as well as we do.' He replied 'I don't understand your individual economies but I understand the world economy and the externalities, that's what I can give you."

Cheers,

Azadeh

If you are interested to know him (DSK) better

This is the most  complete and honest article I have read about him, so far:

Yes, you're right Mrs Davis !

"at $1,000 or more an hour, we expected the clients to behave like gentlemen"..........

And what does the gentlemam who pays $1000 an hour, should be expecting from the "product" that he paid for?

what you wrote is exactly what I read from several of my Iranian family and friends who live in Europe.

DSK's accomplishment in economy is more than just maintaining the power of Euro.

Although I have no respect for the "coureur de jupon" people, but can not dismiss the importance of his skill in mastering the art of dealing with the world's money crisis.
Of course, the American and their allies want him (and will do everything to keep him) out of the scene, because if he would stay on the tope of IMF, Europe  gets out of the crisis much better than this, in the future.

And US will loose its face much worse, in the future.

Anyway, the worst is happened already. They wanted him out of there, and they did it. They've got away with that now.

Thanks Azadeh jan, this is good.

I am alreday reading that some people are writing about conspiracy theories regarding this guy and how US is to blame since DSK 's policies were not good for US. Have not had time to check into this theory.
