Iranian concept cars

Iranian concept cars

The breathtaking Jaguar design above was proposed by the young Iranian graduate of Industrial and Trasnsportation Design Hossein Amini Yekta. The computer generated image was part of a concept car design show a couple of years ago at the Kamal Aldin Behzad Gallery in Tehran. There are quite a few artful (and some weird) concepts offered up by Iranian designers to major car companies. For an image gallery of the full line visit this page. Click on the little image boxes to enlarge, or use "next"  under any enlarged image to sequence through the pictures.

Participant desingers also included: Iman Maghsoudi, Farzad
Barkhordary, Alireza Mohammdzade, Keyvan Naderi, Mohsen Jafari malek,
Hossein Soleymani, Yaser Rashid Shomali, Mohammad Reza Shojaee, Majid Razmi, Hamed Amini, Ali Reza Sahragard, Peyman
Mardani, Amin Dahre Sobh, Mostafa Bonakdar, Kaveh Naser Bakht,
Hesamaldin Jeddy, Mahdy Sadeghi Rad.

The only "super car" Iran ever actually built was the Sahel. Good thing it never went into production because Jay Leno wouldn't have bought one.

By the way, here's a terrific Lamborghini by the Iranian designer Emil Baddal from Shiraz, but I think Emil lives in the U.S.now.

Note: This site has a slideshow a la IC photo essay where you move to the next slide by clicking on the image--it's an easier viewing experience for some.

Not sure what the "concept" is in the Jag beyond body shape. But the designer, Amini-Yekta (now located in Milan), and his company have also designed the Samand ambulance. I think the Samand series is built on a Peugot 405 platform, and one design constraint  for the ambulance seems to have been minimum change to the assembly line for a regular Samand. Notice that the ambulance still has the rear door of a sedan!! I have never seen an ambulance with this feature.

Also, this Renault caught my attention with ease of access to the interior. The solar panels don't have enough surface area to help much with fuel efficiency in long drives, but perhaps for short commutes the batteries can charge in the hot Tehran sun while the car is parked outside all day.

What I see mostly in all concept cars....

Same idea, only different shape with no substantial change in them.

This car shown above is certainly different and attractive looking, but in actuality, what is different in it in terms of concept

A Cunning Concept

The 'flying' saucer built by the 'untraceable' 3 billions $ of the people money was missed on the slide show! Let's wish for every fellow 'hamvatans' family to have a 'breakthrough Jaguar' next to the 'crude oil' offered by AN eight years ago @ their table!
