Obama is Dead Wrong On Dimplomacy And Engagement With I.R. Iran

A leading Iranian expert, Shaul Bakhash, says despite the crackdown against the Iranian opposition, "the crisis isn't over" in Iran. Bakhash says what had been a fairly cautious speech by former President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, as well as a call for a referendum from another former president, Mohammad Khatami, have given new life to the opposition. He says "the reaction to Rafsanjani's speech has been quite electric and perhaps unintentionally, he reopened the whole debate." Making, the policy of engaging Iran, which the Obama administration has advanced, is clearly now problematical. How do you sit with representatives of a government that hasn't won a legitimate election and which has brutally suppressed peaceful demonstrations and protests? I understand the rationale for the desire for the United States to pursue engagement with Iran, but perhaps this is not the moment to do that; and I see no reason to rush into discussions with Iran and not wait for the dust to settle. The Obama policy towards Iran has been flawed from conception and is in dire need of revision. Further, his public silence and avoidance of a humanitarian issue in Iran, for the sake of non-interference on the political issue, illustrated his lack of understanding in relation not only to Iran and The United States but to the global repercussions. I don't expect that at all; nor do I think I was asserting that point.

Realpolitik

That's funny why would you expect Obama to be a beacon for freedom and justice? If you really want a reality check there here it is:

Obama's concern is for US interests. Since the Akhoond regime leaders are following the North Korean model determined to build a bomb then he will do what he sees fit to speak with whoever is in power, legitimate or not. Is the leader in N.K. legitimate?

With regards to his stance on the fraudulent elections in Iran, the US must be careful in its output.  Imbicile Bush and Neocons through their incompetence became the biggest guarantor of the Akhoonds' regime. By careful choice of words and actions the current administration will do the movement in Iran the biggest favour by robbing the Akhoonds of a bogeyman, and maybe for once Americans are being smart in their foreign policy.

Read this carefully first: "Further, his public silence and avoidance of a humanitarian issue in Iran, for the sake of non-interference on the political issue, illustrated his lack of understanding in relation not only to Iran and The United States but to the global repercussions. (Source(s) CFR)"

Forget Obama, do you honestly think that the United States, the country that supports Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Arab Sheikhs, Egypt and many other suppressive regimes, gives a damn about Iran or Iranians or freedom? Give me a break.

The only reason that every freaking news stations care about "movement" in Iran is because Iran has shown them a finger and they want their oil route secured. THAT'S IT.
WHY ARE IRANIANS SO NAIVE?.
So you think Obama, McCain or queen of England really gives a flying fvck about Iranian people and freedom?
oooh, in the 21st century, we still got people like this. Then we complain that we have IR ruling us. Of course we get IR, when we can't comprehend the simple facts and put our head in the snow and think the world is something OTHER than what they have done, historically!.
