Interview with Shahrzad Sepanlou

In late May, I had the good fortune of seeing Shahrzad Sepanlou in the Bay Area. I invited her to a party we were having for Jahanshah Javid at lovely Bella and Nersi’s home.  It was raining like crazy when I picked her up and she was so gracious not to mind my messy car and the pots and pans of food I was transporting to the party in the car!  I found Shahrzad to be warm and beautiful and extremely humble.  We had a chance to chat then and a little later that weekend about her life, her music, and her career.  The next day we went to photographer Mahgameh Parvaneh’s studio (photos 22-36).  You can see our interview/photo essay in this album.  Sponsored by Bamahang Productions and IACA, Shahrzad Sepanlou will perform in Seattle on Friday, June 17 at Town Hall.  She will perform at Yoshi’s in San Francisco on Sunday, July 17, sponsored by Bamahang and our very own Shabeh Jomeh.  Shahrzad will perform with Rana Farhan at El Rey Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 17., sponsored by Butterfly Buzz in association with Bamahang Productions. -Shabeh Jomeh on Facebook (Bay Area Chapter), Bamahang Productions, Butterfly Buzz, IACA-Seattle, Shahrzad Music.

Thanks Nazy jan for the photo essays. I have seen some of the pictures but I have not seen all. However, the ones that I saw were nice since you had text for your interview on the pictures.

Esfand jaan, some years ago, for a NoRooz concert in San Francisco, I saw Shahrzad when she was part of the Silhouette group. It was fun.

She is pretty good and will only get better.  I didn't understand the newspaper backdrop in the photo shoot!  Seems odd, old newspapers are for wrapping stuff or to spread them to keep stuff from getting dirty!

She is beautiful, talented and adorable. As Iranians we are cursed with many things but we are certainly well blessed when it comes to our Iranian women ( forgive me for use of religious connotations).
