Very tastefully done
by Worcester Mo on Tue Mar 22, 2011 04:15 AM PDTBeautiful composition. Very nicely done. I wish you and all Iranians a glorious year. Maybe our beloved country finds her Kaveh and finally get rid of Islamic Zahaks.

Dear Nazy:
Your lovely haft-seen renewed the joy I had drawn from setting my own. Not only do you manifest great taste in your authentic design, but also your care and love shines through. I join you in your meaningful prayer and would like to add that may we all learn to tolerate the ignorance around us.
The world will never be perfect, but may each one of us succeed in perfecting ourselves. Happy Norooz to you, my friend, and to all those who understand the significance of new beginnings.
Thank you friends!
by Nazy Kaviani on Mon Mar 21, 2011 04:35 PM PDTWhat a fabulous eid-didani this photo album has become! Thank you for coming to visit and for all your good wishes. I hope the New Year brings Iranians worldwide joy and peace. I wish all of you good health and hope that you will laugh harder this year than you have in the years past, and that your fingers get busy with beshkan's this year! I hope your pockets are full enough to ensure your comfort, and that love surrounds your households. Thank you again and Nowruz Pirooz!

Goldfish and sabzes!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Mar 21, 2011 06:09 AM PDTGoldfish and sabzes seem to have become the troublemakers of the Iranian 7S tables around the globe!
- First of all the goldfish we buy in pet stores or Iranian supermarkets are bred as "feeders" which means they're bred to die at the hands of Piranhas or miniature Sharks or other predatory fish in fish tanks and aquariums! Now is that a better fate than dying in peace in a fish bowl?!
But as we all have hizbullah PETA members in our circle of friends and family (not you Nazy jaan :-) we now have the headache of arguing about goldfish at what is supposed to be a happy time! So for these families and friends you can ask them which fate is better for goldfish? or release the fish in a lake or pond or stream so the fish can take its chance in a free body of water!
- Now as far as sabze, you can grow Lentils or Wheat. For wheat you need at least a full month but for Lentil (adass) you can grow it in 10 - 12 days. Either way instead of putting your seeds in a flat or semi-flat plate, use a deeper plate. Like the aluminum dishes they use to cook cakes in oven or the underplate they put under plants to keep the water in the plant from going out. A semi-deep plate about 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch deep.
Mix your seeds with a little (very little) potting soil and water generously until you see sprouts. Then hold back water and water once every other day or two days.
Happy Norooz and new year Nazy jaan and everyone!
Everything is sacred

My orange didn't roll. The goldfish took a whirl around the bowl. I've no problem being un-PC.
I believe!
by Nazy Kaviani on Sun Mar 20, 2011 03:54 PM PDTSima Jan, I believe it does. And when it was still politically correct to have goldfish, mine always turned at tahvil time. What can I say? I believe.
Merci Nazy joon!
