by yolanda on Tue Nov 30, 2010 03:06 PM PSTHi! MPD,
Thank you for viewing the photos......it took me 2 days to do the sequel....it was fun......I learned a lot from the process......I realized too many things I don't know......it was also a therapeutic experience....'cause when I was concentrating on the photo essay, I forgot about the stress I got from work temporarily.......it was great!
Thank you for your contribution to IC.......I always learn something or have a chuckle when I read your blogs! :O)
Please take care!
Yolanda I hate (don't know) the Kardashians!

by yolanda on Mon Nov 29, 2010 08:02 PM PSTHi Mouse,
Thank you for your post......This is the most modern and abstract building in Beijing: Beijing TV tower:
//photos.upi.com/slideshow/lbox/3f2def0e6c54c2c155cb33dfc7f73981/CHINA.jpg
//www.moma.org/modernteachers/files/647044ca30592e159.jpg
my taxi passed by the structure several times, but I did not get a chance to take a photo......I am not too crazy about this building 'cause it does not look symmetric to me....
National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing is my favorite....it is simple and elegant! It looks like the structure in Sci-Fi movies! Local people call the structure "Giant Egg"!
Your Tai Chi story really cracked me up! LOL! I think the guy just wants to show off! :O) As you know, Tai chi takes a lot of space....you can't stay in one spot......that is why he has to do it outdoor!
When I went to the Chinese consulate to get my visa, I saw Fallon Gone people sitting in front of Chinese consulate.....I am not sure what they want?
I heard the movie and read it in the news......according to what I read, the movie did not make it to big screen 'cause the director, Ang Lee, refused to cut the sex scene....yes, the actor is good and very popular in South East Asia....he won the best actor's award in Cannes Film Festival.......wow! you know movies, show business, & Kardashian, etc......very well!
Please take care!
P.S. This Iranian guy knows some Tai-chi, too......but he never bends his knees......:O)
Very nice pictures!
by Anonymouse on Mon Nov 29, 2010 06:08 AM PSTI've noticed that the "modern" architecture that Chinese use are actually modern! I've seen few of the pictures, including yours, which actually makes you think modern unlike other "modern" buildings in other parts of the world where they're just infusing something into the old. Very annoying!
I don't understand Tai Chi! Why do they have to do it in public. I have a neighbor who does it all the time outdoors right in front our kitchen window and he's not even Chinese!
And why do they have Fallon Gong posters next to them when they exercise?! and why the Chinese Govt cracks down on the exercising people?!
Lastly I noticed a nude picture somewhere which reminded me of this movie I saw over the weekend. Lust, Caution (2007). It is long 2 hours and 38 minutes and I didn't care for it much but you may be interested in it, you can watch the trailer. It has some violent scenes as well as some intense sex scenes! so beware. It is also made by the same guy who made the movie Crouching Tiger which made headlines. The actors are very good.
Everything is sacred
Nice job Yolanda jan

by yolanda on Sat Nov 27, 2010 08:02 PM PSTHi Anahid,
Thank you for your comment! I like the intricate work, decorations, and paintings on the buildings also.......it is all manual work.....very time-consuming to do it! Acutual, I like the Persian architecture, too.......blue is the main color there......while red/vermilion is the main color in China!

Hi! Khar,

Hi! Red Wine,
I am very envious of the fact that you have been to 4 different Chinese cities.....it took me a long time to visit just one Chinese city! It is a dream of life time......if you go to Beijing, you will see a lot of stuff.....be very honest with you, I did not have enough time to see all the interesting stuff in Beijing 'cause I was only there for 2 and half weeks.......Beijing is full of historical sites, palaces, classical gardens, lakes, museums, and botanical gardens.....if you go there, you should not be disappointed!

Hi! PT,
You are right, communism is just the name only in China......people are busy making money, eating yummy food, getting rich, remodeling their homes, and enjoying their lives.....they don't care about communism!
The little girl is beautiful, sweet and funny, too......when I saw her headdress, it reminds me of Natalie Portman and Mickey Mouse........so I did a little research......apparently her head gear is inspired by headdress of Empress Dowager of China, Cixi.......this Empress ruled Ching dynasty for 47 years....she was more cruel & corrupted than Khamenei! This empress was an ethnic Chinese, Manchu Chinese....they have unique hair decoration.
Thank you for your post!

Hi! DK,
Thank you for viewing the photos and thank you for your post.......I got lucky during summer and got a 2nd job to fund my trip.......I tried to get summer job last 3 years, but all got rejected......finally I got lukcy this year......and my dream came true!

Hi! SamSamIIII,
Thank you for your post! China has her problems......Nobel Prize laureate for Peace, Liu Xiaobo, is jailed and his wife is under house arrest......Japan just had anti-China protest a week ago calling to defeat Chinese imperialism!
There are so many historical sites and also UNESCO world heritage sites in Iran.......It is the envy of the world!!!!......I got to visit there one day........it is very disappointing that mullahs give away a lot of money to Afghanistan, Hamas, and Hezbollas and have neglected some of the historical sites in Iran......it is just heart-breaking.......this UNESCO world heritage site has been under the restoration for 40 years.....
//iranian.com/main/blog/bahram9821-92
it is just mind-boggling....if they have pumped in more money, it should have been done already......apparently they did not give this project the priority and urgency!!!!........I hope they can finish the job before I leave this world!

Hi! Emrooz,
Thank you for viewing the photos.......the little girl is naturally beautiful.......she is very petite and little....but she is a 4th grader already! She looks like a future movie star!
Please take care!

China is good
by SamSamIIII on Sat Nov 27, 2010 08:53 AM PSTChina is wise, china is unassuming, china is proud, china is original, beautiful and yet with all her greatness she has not self appointed herself to speak for all humanity or force her psyche on the rest of the world unlike the minority %2 children of Ishmaiil, Isaak & Ghahtan who have all but taken the pilot seat of the planet for 2 milenium with all their religious & ethnic instigated wars & centre stage whining. If only China had taken the seat the world would have been a more peacefull & wiser entity..its still not 2 late ;).Cheers & thx Yolanda!!!

by Passing Through on Fri Nov 26, 2010 06:12 PM PSTDear Yolanda,
Thank you so much for sharing with us these additional photos of the wonderful heritage of the Chinese people...
I'm glad that the curse of Communism is almost completely and entirely gone from China ..... Except, of course, in name only :) !
Like our Beloved Iran (Persia), China is an ancient civilization - The teachings of Confucius, the wisdom of Lao Tzu (thru Tao Te Ching), are quite evident throughout the Chinese Society today -
Even though Mao and his Commmunist cronies tried their very best to obliterate and eviscerate the great Chinese culture, yet all to no avail - Communism in China will end up in the same dust-bin of history as the Communism in Russia did - Indeed, deservedly so :) !
Many Tks Again,
PT
P.S. BTW, we have to all agree, that this sweet little angel has stolen the show here:
