Yes, the original song was performed by Vegen. It was said to be written by colonel Siamack Mobasheri the night before his execution after military branch of tudeh party was demolished in 1953. Thanks god they were not successed in 1953, otherwise the same mess of 1979 would have been happened back then. Only one different. The name of republic would have been "Democratic Republic of Iran". That would have put Iran as part of Soviet Union like Bulgeria. All our progress and modernization we were facing in 70's was the result of failure of Tudeh party and his comrade mosadegh to take power. All wealth, properity and respect from intenational communities came from lack of success of colonel Siamack Mobasheri and his comrades along with Dr, Mosadegh. Praise God Iran didn't go in that route. Needless to say women in those counties such as Bulgeria were selling their bodies for a pack of cigarette or pair of sock to Iranian truck drivers back in 70's. That was a poverty Soviet Union along with it's alliences were facing. That was what Marxist- Leninst brought for them. Finally Soviet Union collapsed in 1988.

Hope Mr.Norooz get a picture why the colonel was executed.

در همان ایام، مردم گفتند و باور کردند که شعر این ترانهٔ غمگین و درعین حال شورانگیز را سرهنگ ژاندارمری «عزت الله سیامک»، از رهبران سازمان نظامی حزب توده ایران، پیش از اعدام در ۲۷ مهر ماه ۱۳۳۳ در زندان و در وصف سرنوشت غم‌انگیز افسرانی که اعدام می‌شدند، سروده است.

عده‌ای نیز بر این تصور بودند که این ترانه را سرهنگ دوم توپخانه «محمدعلی مبشری»
عضو دیگری از رهبری این سازمان، در وصف «سرهنگ سیامک» در آخرین دیدار خود
با دخترش در شب قبل از اعدام سروده است. گرچه بعدها «گلنراقی» خوانندهٔ این
ترانه، در مصاحبه‌ای با «ایرج طیبی گیلانی» در مجلهٔ «روشنفکر»، در پی تکذیب این موضوع، برای اولین بار اعلام کرد که شاعر این ترانه دکتر «حیدر رقابی» از استادان رشتهٔ ادبیات دانشگاه تهران است، اما هنوز هم بسیاری از دوست داران این ترانه بر آن باور هستند.

Music is a universal language

A wonderful song, showing that music is a universal language that has a message even for somebody who does not understand the lyrics. But I would enjoy a lot if somebody could translate the text and put it on this blog. I knew Golshifteh Farahani only as actress, but she is also a great singer. She will become famous as the voice of a free Iran.
