International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran: As the review of Iran’s human record under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process concluded at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Iranian government demonstrated its utter lack of respect for internationally accepted norms by simultaneously accepting and rejecting recommendations of UN members with regard to addressing the critical situation of human rights in Iran, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran said today >>>

by Arthimis on Wed Feb 17, 2010 07:33 PM PSTThese criminal batards have invaded and occupied Iran since 1979 and are NOT Iranians!!! They learned a little Farsi after their occupation of Iran... Shah should have killed them all... Not only exiling them in Iraq!!! Shah made the biggest mistake in Iranian's last 100 year history... These criminals are not correctable period. They must be eliminated for ever and they will be in the hands of young and TRUE Iranians.

Ms. Clinton instead of a bunch of empty words and threats (santions this, sanctions that), convince your EU allies to stop doing business with Iran and close their doors on Iranian thugs like Larijani bros. You don’t need to convince China, convince Europeans and watch mollas kingdom fall faster than Newton’s apple. Only it was in your interest ….

by Khar on Wed Feb 17, 2010 05:39 PM PSTIf Iran is the great democracy paradise of the region why do We have the killings in the streets of Iran for the last 8 month?
Democracy doesn't require or need killings, raping, and imprisonment of descendents to be protected as you proclaim! They're the requirements of dictatorship and repression especially of a theocracy kind sir.
A remarkable record indeed! we just kill our opponents!

MM: Be reasonable
by AMIR1973 on Wed Feb 17, 2010 08:08 AM PSTAkheh baba, Emam-e Zaman needs a representative "ta enqelab-e Mahdi". Everyone needs good representation, whether it's a talented attorney or an agent (if you're trying to make it in Hollywood). I wonder who the next eartly rep for Emam-e Zaman will be after Rahbar dies (unfortunately, these cockroaches live into their eighties). Will it be Rafsanjani, Mesbah Yazdi, Jannati or perhaps Mojtaba koochooloo. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Mesbah Yazdi (just for sh*ts and giggles). Just imagine Iran run by that guy (not that Khamenei isn't a goh himself). I have an idea: let's have a Revolution and put a bunch of clerics in charge of the country. Now, that's a bright idea...

by hamsade ghadimi on Wed Feb 17, 2010 08:04 AM PSTif it wasn't tragic, i would've thought he's a stand-up comic. i cannot believe the assertions that he makes. the only element of democracy that has been shown by iri is the mockery of elections. they won't discuss qualification and screening requirement of candidates, the unelected bodies of government that run the whole show, the mafioso military group, treatment of women, minorities, ...
i also thought that the lecture by lybian representative on human rights was amusing (video 2). man aan bi-setaareh-am ke liby ham hoghoogh ensaani keshvaram ra enteghaad mikoneh.

Human rights situation is better in Iran than in U.S.
by AMIR1973 on Wed Feb 17, 2010 07:34 AM PSTThere is more freedom of speech and freedom of press in Iran than in the U.S. Anyone who says otherwise is telling lies about the IRI and laying the groundwork for war against the Democratic People's Islamic Republic of Iran. Iranians enjoy rights that Americans could only dream of, like free education and high-quality universal health care. The IRI has made Iranians prosperous too: the average Iranian's income is lower than it was in 1976, but Iran was a colony of the filthy Zionists and imperialists then; now, it is an independent country and regional superpower. Iran is a leader in aeronautics and alternative sources of energy. Iran's industrial and technological acumen far exceeds that of S Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong--combined.
Tehran is no different than London, Rome, and Paris (except for the occasional Gasht-e Ershad aka chahar velgard-e dayyoos aka khaharan-e zeynab aka kalagh siahha aka fati commandoha). Elections there are the freest in the world, and there is less state-sanctioned violence and intimidation of citizens than in the filthy imperialist countries. Iran is an Islamic democracy; it is a people's democracy; it is an Islamic people's democracy. Moreover, it is evolving at its own pace towards greater freedom and prosperity. Since the first 31 years of IRI have been so glorious, just imagine what the next 31 years will be like...
