Undemocratic anti-Americans

Time to wake up
by Farhad Kashani

It is not a secret that blind anti Americanism has become a culture. This culture is spread throughout the world, even in the U.S, where naïve Americans get influenced by leftist media and leftist activists.

Dictators and irresponsible governments use this culture to justify their actions. Look at our own country Iran. Revisiting the events in the last 50 years, shows that Shah executed a coup with his followers and the people who supported them, and the blame goes on America, Shah falls and the blame goes on America for not supporting him/wanting a anti communist regime in Iran (as if Shah wasn’t!), Khomeini comes in and the blame goes on America for they want to suppress Iran/they are friends with the mullahs/Their alleged 1953 coup caused the revolution/their cultural influence endangered the Iranian culture/, the IRI regime’s actions in the last 30 years is also blamed on America for not conversing with the regime/ignoring Iran’s regional power/animosity with the Iranian people/…and the list goes on! So in every event, there is a bashing of America going on! All of this happens as we Iranian do not exist and have absolutely no role in what happens in our own country. If that’s not 1- Twisting of reality 2- insulting the Iranian people, I don’t what is!

That irrational anti Americanism is not only unique to Iran. Other undemocratic governments have done that too. Some examples are China, Russia, Venezuela, N Korea, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Syria, Sudan and Cuba. These countries have portrayed themselves as “anti Imperialist”, and “freedom fighters”, and “justice promoters”, and “hope for human beings!!”! That brings up an important question: what is these so called “Anti American” regimes are talking about and what have they done for their own country? Well, numbers don’t lie! Below, I have gathered data that shows the above mentioned governments’ ranking in critical issues such as human rights and economic prosperity.

So, how much credibility do these regimes have? How misguided is this irrational anti Americanism that these people invented and promote for? How can we believe or accept anything that comes out of the mouth of these regimes? These are some of the nastiest, brutal, aggressive and human rights violating governments in the history, and because of the influence of global leftist media, some have actually bought there propaganda. America is a perfect target because its powerful, unique and most importantly stands against everything they don’t stand for and is not just a country, but an idea, and Americans have built a nation rarely, if seen at all, in history. This country promotes and represents an idea far greater than what these people can ever understand, and that is respect for human dignity.

It's time to wake up and stop apologizing for these regimes. The only losing party in our justifications and apologies is the people suffering under these regimes.

all these countries

by Cyrus_ (not verified) on

All these countries have been the victims of economic and diplomatic sanction by US and her friends.
Carter and Clinton wanted to open dialogue with Cuba and Iran and believed that dipolomatic relation between Cuba and US would have benefited both countries but the republicans would have had none of it.
So when you base your essay on these figures try to point out the root cause of malaise as well otherwise it would be a one sided argument.

Why must you only cater to people with an IQ below 130? Why won't you add more substance and more balance to your writing?

Maybe because Mr. Kashani didn't want you to feel left out. Not only that, but I'm sure he typed slowly, since you can't read fast.

Lastly, I wasn't aware that "illiterate articles attrack illiterate remarks" until you came along to show how illiterate you really are.

yes, i caught the "ann... fish" comment.  what a class act you are!  iranians should be soooooo proud right now.

i enjoy debating, discussing and even arguing with many people on iranian.com.  they are gentlemen and civil individuals.

i'm still waiting for some substantiating evidence of these allegations against me... insulting iranians...racist... etc. but i know it's pointless.  cowards hide everytime.  you'll just come back under another anonymous name and toss your insults.

as far as speaking german?  hell no, we kicked their ass. remember?

javadagha... now i remember you.  you're the clever one who insulted iranian women.  how could i expect less...:-)

i'll put my 500 year old country against your 5000 year old one any day of the week.  if you want to pretend that's insulting, fine by me.

and apparently so will many others who came here to live.

The warmonger's objective (Well said gol-dust)

by Anonym7 (not verified) on

Gol-dust, regarding ypou AIPAC comment, here is what former speaker of the Israeli Parliament Avraham Burg says:

"I have a feeling that sometimes we’re having three political entities: the United States of America, the sovereign state of Israel, and the independent state of AIPAC, which has its own policy"

Gol-dust, as you correctly said, this war monger's objective is to set us all (Iranains, Americans, and Israelis) against each other.

by XerXes (not verified) on

No one gives a damn about the unfair, racist American politics, most people are here because of economic reasons and opportunity. Most will move once the economy shifts. I am not talking about Iranians here, I am talking about people. They go where their kids can go to school and they can provide.
Do you have to be blind to the racism or unjust policies or the Zionists acts because you live somewhere?
Should they stop loving their land? Would an Israeli do that? or An Italian. Just because the Mini me is ruling the US right now, doesn't mean that the US is right.
Actually US is absolutely wrong in supporting Israeli, Fighting an unnecessary war in Iraq, and threatening Iran.
You think Zionists stay? Zionists would be the first to go. That's why they are fighting to have "something" reserved just in case. In case of what you ask?
They'll be gone before this country gets bad. Because they care about America the same as they care about women and children being killed so they can have an spare land just in case. Wherever the money is dude, that's the deal with most people.
You probably would be the first to go.
US policies are unfair and scary.
Man do you even know how many people in how many countries have been killed by the US soldiers? Raped? Take a guess!
I guess I shouldn't say that because the feeling of some racist arrogant individuals gets hurt. So?
It's a matter of principle. When the time comes, those of us who care will protect people like you if needed, not those who are racist and selfish who don't care about the human life.

Anonymous lady; You keep asking for proof.  Please place your list next to other list(s). Beirut killing soldiers?  I assume you have a proof, if yes, then compare it with downing cowardly a civilian plane killing 290 passengers and crew (most of whom were children).  Just compare your list with others.  I did not know you also speak or write in German then you are one of the few (Beirut-Tötungsoldaten? For vatanfoorsh Eye-ranians, no one said I do not watch other news channels; how else can I compare? Women or girls have no house to their names in Iran or other countries?  How about betting some money? Poor Iranian husband!

Anyways, the fact that American Wanna be Israeli agent PC, who ultimately doesn't give a flying ##&^ about the US the moment US stops her support to Israel, and some culturally hollow individual who just happen to be born in the land of the free tend to agree! shows you the extend of racism that is carved in the culture of some people. WOW

PC argued for years about how his hero messanger stupid Dick and his object were the greates thing ever happened to the US, forgoing the death toll as bunch of Ayrabs getting killed in a region that HE claims is theirs!!!
Red neck indeed.

I guess here goes to show you that nationalism is the core and all the "human rights", Woman rights (besides animal rights!) it's all lies and deception.
That's how Iranians learn from the best. We see that regardless of what's right or wrong, the issue is nationalism and superiority. Then let the 21st century be a lesson for them. It just begun.
I think Iranian inside got it right about the policy makers and their follower of this country. That's how Iran is wrapping the American politicians around their little pinki. They were racist against blacks, Jews, Korean, Indians, and now Iranian is their new topic of interest. The hell with all these arrogant red necks.
And red neck is being nice. The real word I can't say since it won't get published.

Look at all those who were bailed out, and media, US congress, and so on, are all AIPACs or controlled by them. Why do you think that Madof ( a russian AIPAC) was put only on house arrest while someone who steals pizza goes to jail! They knew it all along, but couldn't touch the mafia guy since they were afraid of the hit man! SEC was afraid of him! Democracy? How about AIPAC control of US? How could such a little country control US? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Iran is corrupt! That's why those who live abroad cannot go there since they are not used to bribery! US government and Iran are both corrupt! So don't defend any of them! But, americans and iranians, in general, are good people who can live in peace with each other! unfortunately, americans equate iranians with their government, but iranians differentiate the two!

I totally disagree with that guy "Kashani." We love America and Iran, but we hate both governments!

Good article. Unfortunately, it's wasted on the likes of some of these idiots who actually believe the U.S. OWES them something. The title says "Time To Wake Up", but these detractors are all in an irreversible coma.

As for the rest of you, grow the hell up.

You whine about the U.S. so much, yet you live here.

You complain about the government, yet it was the government that allowed you to enter this country in the first place, so that you can get a quality education, a decent standard of living, or because you know that if you stayed in Iran the mollahs were going to hang you by your gonads, so you begged the INS for a visa like a little girl, saying, "I Laav Amrika! I vaant to be Yoo Ess Essitizen! I pelej aleejans to de felag av de Yoonited Esstates of Amreeka. Peleez I don't vaant go back to Iran. Dey kill me."

Talk about sh**ing where you eat!

You don't like what FOX or CNN or MSNBC reports? Change the damn channel. And how would you conclude that it is so biased or Zionist unless you are still watching it in the first place? And if you're watching it, you're a hypocrite!

You clowns have this exaggerated sense of entitlement. This country and no one in it owes you a goddamn thing.

Our internal issues in the United States along with the monetary objectives of a hawkish society from within, become dictating factors behind how we pursue foreign policy as a whole. I'm not sure how you can claim they are unrealted.

Some passionately protect our government's action in the name of patriotism, others question why that freedom and justice only apply to a certain class of the population, nor do they remain passive toward the demonization of their culture and race. If all these patriots didn't pay their taxes the way Dashell and other Obama nominees failed to pay, the consequence for their oversight will be substantially more severe. Kind of like 3 strikes and you're out rule that apply to the DVD player thief vs. white color fraud of the Enron's alike which link you can easily link to the families that lost hope and commit suicide.

Are some lives worth more than others? The hawkish relieve themselves of moral objectivity by claming that our educated western society is more important than the uneduated palestineyans that are getting slaughtered. Why? because we've had the opportunity and they haven't? Yet we let them immigrate here (if they can bring in their bundle of cash) and then they are OK. A contributing member to our "free and democratic system", is one whose effort and life time of work can benefit the same elite that endorse the killings abroad.

This is the kind of racism that A/Fish, farhad kashani and programmer craig's alike don't realize their argument is ultimately endorsing.

Bijan A M

Calm down, please...

by Bijan A M on

Mr. Kashani can speak for himself and defend his position, but this is my take from his article. There are basically two points in his post:

1-      Blind anti-americanism

I see this as demonization of American’s system of government because of certain policies of a given administration, without elaborating on the circumstances or environment that has led to those policies. This anti-americanism is blind to the foundation of American democracy and its constitution. The constitution that grants humans of every race, religion, age and gender anywhere around the globe the dignity of freedom and protection of their god given rights. That same constitution provides for defense of those freedoms and rights.

It is blind anti-americanism if you refer to Hiroshima without reference to Purl-harbor, or talk about torture, secret prison or war in Afghanestan without referring to the horror of 9/11.

Criticizing actions of a government is entirely different from being anti-government. The constitution provides for free criticism of the government’s actions. After all, a true democratic government is by the people, for the people and should represent the will of the people.  However, IMHO, a criticism is only legitimate when it’s accompanied by and offers alternative action(s).

2-      IRI’s neglect of democratic values

The second point of Mr. Kashani’s article (IMHO) was to document IRI’s ignorance of democratic values cherished by the constitution of US. Values such as Human rights, freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of relgion, equal rights, etc….whether we agree or disagree with how he tries to measure the degree of such violations (i.e. using rankings by some biased or unbiased group) is irrelevant. The fact is that violations of those values by IRI is undeniable.

The opinion that the liberal media (directly or indirectly) has helped fuel the anti-american sentiment and make it more fashionable, is an opinion that I also share. I also find it dishonest, demonizing (not criticizing), the system of government that I, on my own free will have chosen to take advantage of all the positives it has to offer. I find it disgraceful.

Abarmard

I don't see problems with the article

by Abarmard on

Perhaps the misconception is that some people think that governments actions are direct result of the people's feelings. It is not so.

Iran is ranked low in all those areas and we need to realize and work on it. Does the US have many internal issues? Yes, but that's not related to Iran. Mutually exclusive events.

We can link the foreign policies and the results, and conclude that therefore this is not an isolated incident and needs to be studied based on the linkage.

I think some people have been way out of line to attack some of the users of this site. It's illogical and useless.

My understanding is that the article is not saying the people of those countries hate the US, which I am certain it's not the case, but the government. That's not invalid.

Whatever the reason, there are many differences with ideologies forming around the globe.Perhaps the more useful and informative approach would be to analyze why that is.

You say: "what DOES piss me off is hypocrisy and double standards"

Then why aren't you objecting to our government's double standards? They trample our consititution, yet you never object to things like:

-Maydoff under house arrest for stealing 50 billion dollars of american tax payers money
-Our social security and medicare funds got routed to fund a war designed to fill the pockets of Texas / wall street elite. Then when mullah's got in the way to protect their region, they automatically get labeled as terrorists.
-Tax payers paying for wall street bankers country club memberships and stripper shows doesn't bother you?
-People's retirement money vanishing is simply OK? (do you realize that money just doesn't evaporate. A dollar spend is a dollar gained) Why don't ever ask where that money went?

Are you aware that over 37 million americans live in poverty? How come you don't question Bush's killing of a million innocent people under the notion of "Be free or we'll kill you so you can have freedom"? Why DON'T you get pissed off of our government's hipocracy? What about the gencides in Africa or Olmert slaughtering of 1300 innocent civilisan in Palestine for the sole purpose of rallying naive constituents in inorder to prop up Netenyahoo standing in the political race as a sole measure to promote and maintain a hawkish control there. Are they less human than you and I?

You talk about women's rights in Iran, yet I doubt you've really gaged the aptitute and political minset of a persian woman. Rest assured, they are the mothers of their son's and they'll know how to protect their right far better than you and I ever will.

I don't see you object to hipocracy of our society. Do you think it's unamerican for us to hold our officials accountable? Is it unamerican to demand for change and integrity to be restored back to the constitution that our nations founding fathers intended for us.

Patrotism doesn't mean you put your head in the sand (like farhad kashani) and follow the guy behind the mic without using your talent and judgement. What's unamerican is to randomly follow whatever they put in front you or blow the horn of bunch of pirates that have dragged our economy for the benefit of their own waistful and lavish lifestyles.

You are as nationalistic, hate monger and righteous against Iranians and Muslims that you claim they are against you. So tit for tat. I don't live in your country and don't owe you or anyone anything. So I am free as a bird.

Speaking of bird, it might be good for you to get out of your southern cage and travel the lands where you seem to have a totally wrong view about.

You and some other foreigners don't seem to have come here to exchange, but to impose. Good luck with that.

Iranians certainly have much better view and understanding about the US than the US citizens have to Iran and the region. Do people get the difference between Iran and Iraq yet? Or what's the f*$Ing difference, right? they are all same.

Your first concern seemed to have been the state of Israel? Have you thought about why is that?

**Brainwashin**media

How many Iranian regime has killed in the last 30 years, and how many Americans have killed in the same period. Human life, not nationality! Get it? What's evil?

So don't act pure and put something down when there are faults all around the globe. It's like a white man goes to a black neighborhood and makes the "N" word jokes. Black can do it but not a white, why? Same reason here. You don't know enough about the culture.

The only hope that you can have is that within your life time, Israelis leave their grip from the American affairs. So maybe you need to go to your "friendly" sites, where these guys feed from, where you think they "love" the Americans and figure the truth for yourself.

alter egos...

by anonymous fish on

exactly WHAT is the argument?

what "position" am i supposed to state and explain?

what insult and to whom?  please be specific and not "generalize" as you pointed out to me.

show a little grace?  you're joking, right?  be greatful?  for what?  for the innuendos that you and your alter egos continue to spread, on and behind the scenes?  do you think i'm not aware of YOUR agenda?

also, if i may... since when did it become a one-way street where YOU get to point out my flaws?  and yet, i'm "insulting" you when i point out yours.

look up hypocrisy and double standards in the dictionary.  it should be very enlightening.

i'm very open and receptive to a civil discussion on this matter.  if you can come back and make any sense... or prove your point in any way.  i look forward to hearing more.  thanks.

Hmmm?

And programmer Craig, if some of these guys disclose their identity,
you'll be intimitated and over shadowed by their stature

I'm not easily intimidated, and I don't react well to threats.

so just
reduce the rehtoric and stick with the argument. It will eventually
enlighten your point of view.

Argument? There's no argument going on in here, just a bunch of biotted ranting, which I made a conscious decision not to particpate in. But thanks for trying to drag me into it anyway... I appreciate your concern for my well being :D

undamentalist islamists,

by sickofamericanhaters (not verified) on

undamentalist islamists, like Daryush, Xerxes, Dr. M.d. (i.e.,supporters of the blood soaked IRI) while taking advantage of lawfulness of
democratic societies, have expanded their propaganda network to promote their own cause by talking about humanitarian values in general terms and ignoring the fact that those values can never be implemented under religious laws. Living Conditions in islamic nations and the treatment of citizens in those countries where laws are taken or linked with religion, is the most obvious reason for incompatibility of values in
modern society and islamic or any other religious laws
