Disillusionment and despair of an artist in exile
by iraj khan on Wed May 30, 2012 07:31 PM PDT.Like a fish out of water
.Namjoo's most personal song since he left Iran
This song reveals his deep feelings for Iran where he cannot be, hence, his despair, talking to himself, a monologue of an exile watching his country going down in a free fall
He expresses the pentup feelings of an artist in exile through playing 'Setar', singing his lyrics while being accompanied by three other backup singers and the sound of piano, soothing and beautiful it is
رنج بی ثمر را بنگر ،
ذلّت هنر را بنگر ،
شور بی ثمررا بنگر،
A moving and beautiful performance by Namjoo and his band, thanks for posting here
Not a great artistic work but I love his honesty
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed May 30, 2012 07:13 PM PDTin artistic works done these days by Iranians in diaspora, honesty is lacking ,so I like it when I can feel Namjoo is being honest about his feelings. Message is depressing, artistic value not much but he gets a beest for honesty.
Two Thumbs Down !!
by Banafsheh Zolfaghari on Wed May 30, 2012 06:34 PM PDTA long time admirer of his work, but this is quite dissapointing. Hoping he has'nt lost his edge!
Mohsen khan: Boooooohooooo!

I prefer to think we will win
by bahmani on Wed May 30, 2012 11:00 AM PDTWe are this doomed?
No Aspiration?
No Inspiration?
Forgive my disagreement with this premise. I prefer to think of Iran and Iranians as inevitable winners, not hopeless losers.
If you are going to crazy either way, why not be crazy optimistic? Crazy hopeless seems less fun.
